Auburn tailback Mike Dyer has been suspended indefinitely for violating undisclosed team rules and won't play in the Tigers' bowl game.

Auburn confirmed the suspension of the first-team All-Southeastern Conference player Sunday and said he will miss the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31 against Virginia.

Dyer is the first Auburn back to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons. He ran for 1,242 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore and was the offensive MVP of the national championship game in January.
