Hmm, well it seemed like a good move to make, despite some issues with the knee, but know it looks like the deal is off.

Raps have reportedly signed Rasual Butler.

Swelling in his knee's if I've read correctly.

I actually am disappointed that we couldn't go through with this. Even with the swelling, Pietrus is still good enough to come off the bench. Ah, wahetever. We're destined for the lottery this year.

Butler at least can drain a 3, kinda like what D.Marsh was for years ago IMO.

I thought Rasual Butler was one of the players that signed overseas without a buy out option. At least he is according to this list:

List of NBA Players Stuck Overseas for 2011-12 Season

Other than one great season shooting the 3s back in 2003-04, Butler has been an average to below average 3-point shooter. The last two seasons, he's been well below the league average in 3FG%. Pietrus isn't a great 3-point shooter, but he's been better than Butler over the last two seasons and better than league average. Plus, Pietrus is a decent defender. Butler is not.

Oh well, it's not like either one will help you win any more games this season. The Raps are just looking for a warm body with a pulse and some NBA experience to fill a roster spot. Either one will give you that. So, take whoever is cheap and willing to sign a 1-year deal with a second year team option.
