Indeed, it seems Korver always will have some role as the Bulls' designated shooter. However, Korver said he worked hard to expand his game, doing side-to-side drills to try to improve defensively and working on his post game. "A lot of times in the playoffs they put more size on Derrick (Rose) and put a point guard on me," Korver said. "I want to be able to take that guy down low. That’s something I did early in my career. The last few years, teams I’ve been on, it wasn’t something we looked at. "Also, coming off screens, I felt like last year, I was either shooting or passing really quickly. I got in the mindset I had to make the decision right away. I worked on coming off and taking my time, seeing my options and what plays I can make. Not trying to be a three- or four-dribble guy but a one- or two-dribble guy to create space and stepback and pumpfakes." Like most Bulls, Korver said the Bulls' loss to the Heat in the Eastern Conference finals stayed with him over the long offseason. "When you look at teams and breaking through that last wall before they get a championship, a lot of it is mental and learning how to play," Korver said. "Last year, we learned a lot about ourselves.
