If the moon is aligned and the stars are just right; maybe, just maybe Portland has a chance at D.will; would you be willing to use the amnesty on G. Wallace to get him?

    D. Will wants out and if they can't get Howard, then I suspect he will not stay.

He wants out? He said there is a 90% chance he stays.
Yes, I'd waive Wallace for him. We'd have enough money, though, without doing that.

He's a lock to stay in NJ or bolt to Dallas. Our only shot at an upper-tier PG, and it's a long shot at that, is Rondo. The Celtics are on the verge of a rebuild and will likely have to start from scratch as they have NO assets outside Rajon. None.

If that's the case, he's not going to get Paul or D. Will contract. I think a 15 per would pry him away. And just like Brain said, this will depend on just how good LMA does this season. If he does Beast out, we have great chances with alot of these free-agents.

Dallas is clearing room, but Howard is the key. If Howard goes to NJ, DW stays. If he goes to Dallas then DWill could be looking around. But more than likely DWill goes to Dallas.

Thats why we need to only offer guys like Crawford or Reggie Williams 1 year deals, and we need to hold off on a Batum extension.

If we amnesty Gerald, we could sign both Howard AND Deron Williams. Pair those two with Matthews and Aldridge and we rival the Heat superteam.

Yes its extremely unlikely, but there is very little downside to keeping that option available. I hope Blazers management doesn't panick and offer Batum some stupid $9million per year contract as Mike Barrett suggests hes worth.

Yeah, I don't think Portland is going to attract any 1st rate stars. Rondo would be a nice addition. Westbrook is a restricted free agent next year....I don't suppose we have any shot at him either.

In the current NBA climate, I have a hard time believing we will be able to steal away a Dwight Howard or a Deron Williams.
