Landry and Crawford would be incredible! Landry lead the league in 4th quarter FGs or FTs or something like that. I remember him kicking our ass in the playoff series a few years ago.

Unlike some posters here, I think the Blazers best move may be to try and create a deep team with many quality players. We'll have a lot of cap space next year, but we should use it to re-sign our own guys. The only "top tier" UFAs next year are old guys like Steve Nash and Kevin Garnett. And we all know, Portland is not an A destination for those kind of guys.

The only downside on Landry I hear, is that he's coming off a pretty bad knee injury.

They could try a S/T. Armon/Babbit/Elliot would be enough salary going out to aquire Crawford. They could then have the DPE/MLE left to use on another person.

Are they thinking of David West? Landry last had knee surgery in college 2005.

Sounds like tomorrow might be a fun free agent day for us!

    Canzano adds his thoughts....

    John Canzano @JohnCanzanoBFT
Consider... Money: Portland > Knicks... Style of play: Knicks > PDX... Minutes: Even. This is a tough one for Crawford.

    John Canzano @JohnCanzanoBFT
Crawford decision feels heavy. Sacto has to know this is a two-team race. Knicks vs. Blazers. Who ya got?

    Dwight Jaynes twitter

Jamal Crawford's stock has dropped enough that the Blazers can now afford him. Wow. May have to take $3 million less than he made last yr

    Sam Amick @sam_amick
Portland, but I could be wrong RT @Russaldo13 @sam_amick whats your gut saying about where Crawford lands?

    And this from blazersedge..........

Conflicting Reports On Blazers' Offer To UFA G Jamal Crawford
Tuesday evening, Jason Quick of The Oregonian reported that the Portland Trail Blazers made a 2-year, $10 millon offer to unrestricted free agent guard Jamal Crawford citing his agent, Andy Miller.

Tuesday night, Sam Amick of SI.com reported that Portland's offer is worth $5 million while the Sacramento Kings have offered $6.5 million, citing a source close to Crawford.

Earlier Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers reportedly made Crawford a 2-year, $10 million offer, which he reportedly rejected. That offer was later reported to be "overstated" by Marc Berman of the New York Post.

The only number that everyone seems to agree on, for now, is that the New York Knicks have offered $2.5 million, the maximum they are allowed using a room exception.

Having communicated with multiple sources with direct knowledge of the negotiations, it is a bit of a zoo.

Does Jamal have any PG skills? I wonder if he'd split time with Matthews at SG, or if we'd do a 3 guard rotation. I'd be suprised if he took half the money to play with the Knicks, or signed with the crummy Kings.

Are we sure we want Crawford? He's an exciting name but he hasn't really shot that well the last couple years, esp in the playoffs.. I don't want another Rudy, bricking threes. I prefer Williams.

I think there's two things that set Crawford apart:

    1. He creates his own shot. We have no one on this team that can do that outside of Aldridge and maybe Felton. Crawford would be great for an offense that constantly stagnates. (Like Nate's)

    2. He can split time at the one. No more hoping Smith or Johnson can contribute. Crawford is more than adequate for 12-15 minutes at the point. This opens more time for guys like Wes and Nic.

On the flip side Williams has never played in the playoffs. The games are a bit different. (Defense is actually used) But there is a valid arguement for going young with Williams.

    Jason Quick
Just got off the phone with @JCrossover. He says Portland is "right there" with New York and Sacramento. He's torn and genuinely undecided

Sean Deveney: Once the CP3 dust settles, NOH will make a push to re-sign Carl Landry and Willie Green. Landry has interest from POR, but $ is tight there.
