I actually think he'll gain the respect of his players. This is a young group, which one of these Raptors has the right to say to Casey "Why should I respect you, I've done such and such in the NBA"...not one Raptor can do this. Casey seems to want to instill a family type team situation, where the players really get to become a real group of NBA players.

He has definitely seen his share of good and bad, and recently off an NBA, he's to me at least, the perfect coach for this team. Wants D to be a major part of the game, will have a good run and gun group that will HOPEFULLY be able to play some half court basketball. I don't think I've seen that in over 6-7 years when Alvin Williams was running the point.

Also, how is he screwed if he doesn't win right away? Management seems to want to keep him for a while, and why not? Casey is nothing but good for this Raptor team, we'll only improve and when we get a top 5 pick this year, and you can include Johnas Vally to make some noise next year...The Raptors will be in a nice spot.

dude just came from a coaching staff that won the championship, I am sure he'll have no problem getting the respect of the players on the Raptors.
