The last three seasons he's been very mediocre. Definitely not the player he was in Houston. Though, even that would be an upgrade at the backup-PF position.
Wasn't Landry playing for Houston two seasons ago? Also, he averaged 16 points per game in the playoffs last season. Not bad.
He had a half season with Sac where he averaged 18 ppg on 52% shooting in early 2010. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/carl_landry/career_stats.html
Is Landry a top power forward in the league? No. But he is a great bench player who has been at the top of the league in fourth quarter scoring. He's carved a niche and he would be very valuable to have.
Why is everyone so obsessed with Crawford? I personally hope we don't get him. I saw him play in that charity game with LMA and all I got out of that was that he is a CHUCKER. Nothing but. He was horrendous and seemed like a hog. Every time he got the ball he put up a shot, anywhere and everywhere. I kinda even got disgusted with his shooting...
You're judging his skills based on an exhibition charity game? Have you ever watched the Blazers intrasquad scrimmage or an All-Star game?
The man shot under 40% from the field in the last two playoffs. Looks like a chucker to me too. If we get Crawford, he will be reviled in here eventually.
I still say it's a throw away season, so why not see what the young guys can do. Let's do what the Tebows is doing and see if one of them in the PG or SG of the future
Um I've seen enough of Aarmon Johnson. In fact you know it's bad when your upset patty mills is in china. And Williams seems like a limited Darius Miles at sg with less jumpers. That's not good.
Wow. First, Crawford as the 3rd option on this team (or, as already pointed out, the one player not named LMA that can create his own shot) is pretty money. Second, if you're concerned about his FG%, look more at his TS%. He's improved the last 3 years, making more 3's and getting to the line more (where he's 85+%). And if he's the guy covered by the best perimeter defender, you still have Felton and either Batum, Matthews or Wallace on the other side to pass to and exploit. Third, he plays a gambling type of D, but he plays some D. Averages almost a steal a game. Getting Williams would be the "Wes Matthews underrated move" for us. I also like guys like that that can hit at a 40+% clip from deep, but the truth is that you can find 2-3 guys like that in the D League every year (and it seems that every year I make a post about it). You can't get a Crawford type in the DLeague, or the Free Agent Heap, anytime you want...and, I'd submit, NEVER at a discount like we'd be getting here.
jwquick An important factor in the @JCrossover free agent sweepstakes: He says he is a "big fan" of Kings coach Paul Westphal and his style of play LOL hurry, someone tell him Nate SWEARS he's gonna run more this season. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
At first I wasnt excited about the idea of adding Crawford. After thinking about it more, I would be very happy to see him on the roster. He would provide a much needed consistent scoring boost. He also has that killer instinct that we lack with Roy gone.
This time last year Armon Johnson was being called "the next Greg Anthony". Now he's nothing. How quick we are to rush things around here, good or bad.
I wonder how the Wallace rumors effect his decision. Positive: More money available? Negative: Are they giving up on this season?
key word is rumors.... remember something about trades ESP in NBA.... once you hear about them 90% of time they are dead.
