Of course it's all a huge "if", but damn if it goes through this is a great day to be a Blazers' fan.

Where exactly would the picks come from? Has that been posted yet?

I like Wallace, he's a good player. But he simply does not fit in Nate's system. He will be reduced to a garbage man role in our offense (pound it in to LMA and kick out to shooters).. not a good use of his skills. Moving Wallace to free up room for Batum while aquiring several 1st round picks in a good draft is a great move.

Hmm both will be playoff teams this year probably. Picks should be in the 16-25 range. Wish we could do better.

Psst... Just an FYI, new Orleans wants youth, picks, cap savings. This deal makes me think we are going after Paul. Don't know how I can deal with losing Wallace. Hard hat players are so hard to find.

The point is remaking the roster using an aging piece with a massive injury history and maybe not much gas left in the tank as an "all-star." Certainly there are no guarantees in the draft, but this team was staring a pretty bleak future in the face as currently constructed -- the mediocrity treadmill -- and this gives the team a chance to break that cycle. Yes it's only a chance, but that's all you can ask for.

If Orlando loses Howard, they are going to the lottery.

And what is not so good about that is we could now have a situation where Wallace is in camp and pissed off. Like we need more distractions with everything that has gone on.

I don't necessarily think this is the master plan, but it's illustrative of the kind of flexibility it would afford the team going forward.

Yeah because this summer with Roy's contract off the cap, we should have close to 25 mil free. That's a lot of flexibility, especially if you get two first rounders too.

It would be great but if we cant sign a big name free agent then all that "freed" up money is worthless. I dont want to overpay Jrue Holiday for example. I hope we can be attractive to the big names but if we arent very good this year its going to be even harder to appeal to those players. I see both sides but neither is real attractive at this point.

As I've already said, I'm not opposed to trading Wallace. I just want to make sure we're getting unprotected first rounders back and/or young talent. Why put together another team that will just get bounced in the first round? Roy is gone, Oden will probably follow, and Aldridge has a heart condition that could shorten his career. Let's scrap the plan and start drawing up new blueprints. You do that with cap space and draft picks.

I don't think it'll effect him terribly much, he isn't a moody baby like Odom. He is a pro like Gasol or Andre Miller. Miller was mentioned endlessly in trade rumors last season up to the deadline and it didn't effect his play on the court.

I like this move if it happens. Unfortunately, these kinds of things seldom do get completed. I'll keep my fingers crossed, however.

NJ also has a lottery protected pick from Houston. Not excited about the picks, but would like it better if we got Humphries.

I will tell you if we have cp3, Batum and Aldridge; with the promise of oden; you'd be surprised. Who knows man. We could even give the hornets camby for okafor in process. Basically you can offer, 2 first rounders, Felton, camby for cp3 and okafor. It actually works cap wise.

Then if Crawford deal goes through, you would have a pretty deep team. Paul, Wes, Batum, Aldridge and okafor with crawford being our 6th man.
