I think you could go either way, but I think right now it is Rasheed Wallace.Rasheed has just as good of, if not a better interior game, and alot more range. Sheed is also an underrated defender, his long arms throw off alot of shots, an atribute that is very underrated.Sheed is nearing the end of his prime, but I think that right now he is better, Gasol will probably be better this time next year.
I'll take Gasol, he's actually a pretty good defender, better than you think. Has a nice jumpshot, but Sheed does have more range. Gasol is a better rebounder however, and he is younger. Nice post moves inside as well.
i'd take rasheed a few years back in his blazers days. but right now it definately has to go to pau gasol. he has superior ball handling and passing. he's like a dirk w/ better ball handling and power except w/o all the range and the nifty jumper.
This is easily Gasol to me. He's on the rise and already better than Sheed. I know Sheed's stats don't look as good bc he is on Detroit, but he is simply not as good of a player. Pau can do it all: Shoot, score on the blocks, rebound, play defense, pass. I'll take him in a heartbeat.
I think this is stupid. Pau Gasol leads that Grizzlies team. He could get more minutes and better numbers, but they play a team, depth style that doesnt really allow anyone to dominate. Anywho, Pau scores more points, he gets more boards, he is the better passer. He is a star player in this league. Pau is a 20 and 9 guy, who also averages 5 apg and shoots on 50% shooting. Those are very good numbers. Pau has a decent jumper, and is also the better shotblocker now. He averages almost 2 bpg and is a solid defender in the League. Rasheed has more range and is the better defender, but hey, I'd still take Pau quite easily actually.
I will take Rasheed on this one. He is one of the best on the ball defenders in the league. Shaq even said that the toughest person he ever played against is Rasheed Wallace. You must also remember that he is one of the toughest PF's to gaurd in the league right now. If i am starting a franchise today, i take Pau, but if i am trying to win NOW, im taking Rasheed.
Gasol is a franchise player. Rasheed has never been, is not, and never will be a franchise player. True, Rasheed can shoot, score, defend, and all that, but Gasol is at least as good in those three categories. Gasol is the leader, and that's it.
Gasol can carry a team to victory as Rasheed cannot (as we saw in Portland). This year Gasol didn't really have a team with spectacular players on it, but he led them to the playoffs. Plus Pau is younger.
Pau easily, in my opinion Rasheed made the all star game probably because he was on the 37-5 pistons, hell Tayshaun Prince probably almost made it.
key word pau isnt a superstar player the grizz havent ever won a playoff game I would pick him beacuase hes 7 years younger then rasheed tho
