Great deal for the Clips & Hornets if it goes through as Gordon, Kamen, Aminu & pick. The dude wants to play in LA, so what better than with Blake G...we're gonna see
    ally-oop after ally-oop!

No way in hell would they be able to pull CP3 and Howard w/o giving up Blake.

    After an amnesty of Williams,

Deandre Jordan plus draft picks and Bledsoe for

    Howard, Hedo, Duhon, Q Rich

    should work.

This is one of those trades that I'm not sure who "won".

The Hornets might actually be better this year, even though they gave up the best player. Kaman and Gordon can really play, and they clearly needed quantity at this point. I expect MN to be better this year than many, but their pick should still be a lottery pick.

The Clippers? They get the best player and they get a guy who's only 26. He's had injury problems, for sure, but if he stays healthy and stays a Clipper then he'll be battling with Griffin for the best Clipper ever.

It's a fun and interesting trade.

I wonder if this puts the Clippers ahead of the Blazers in the playoff pecking order...

The best part of this trade is that the CP3/Griffin Clips will be a really entertaining GOOD(not great) team, but not a contender.

However, if they get Howard somehow, the NBA will be the lamest it's ever been.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm also wondering who else is on the Clippers team?

mostly because I don't know their team. Who is their SG? backup SG? starting SF? backup SF? starting C, backup C?

I think it comes down to the performances of DeAndre, Butler, and Billups. If they all perform as above average NBA starters the Clips could be a darkhorse contender. If they mostly stink that team is one and done.

The Clips better have gotten him to sign an extension. There's a long and inglorious history of good to great players dumping that organization.

I never thought much of Rick Bucher, but he's really proving his asshattedness:
Yeah, that's right, the Clippers really made Stern "blink". He wanted Gordon plus the Minny pick... and they gave it to him! After he turned down two previous offers that didn't include one or the other! What a rube!

Great move for the Clips. Griffin, CP3, Billups, and C.Butler is a solid squad. I always thought E.Gordon was over rated.
I think the Clippers could end up with a better record than the Lakers! That would be awesome!
Has Billups agreed to play for the Clips or is he going to retire?

I am sure Billups is going to play for the Clipps, otherwise he doesn't get any of his $14million salary this season.

He's said that he may retire if the situation isnt right. He said "I havent spent much money, so I have a lot in the bank".

Yes but that was posturing to try to get to Miami. When all is said and done he'll be shouting CTC.

I think it was a great trade for both sides. Yes Clippers gave up a lot but when healthy, Paul is a top 5 player in the league. You have to give up value to get a player of that caliber, look at Deron and Melo. He played 80 games last year and had an amazing playoff series. Now put a real team around him. Good deal.

Hornets got a fantastic young player in Gordon, a huge expiring (not to mention serviceable centre) in Kaman, a mediocre but young wing and a probable top 10 pick. This trade will also make them suck this year so their own pick will be pretty high.

Clips have 2 players better than our best player. This is not good.

Great trade for NOH, but I don't like younger teams passing us like this while we either stay idle or head downward.

I would say it mostly hinges on the health of Paul's knee(s). If he's good to go or even at 90% of his maximum ability then unquestionably I think they should be placed above the Blazers and that's mostly because I think they have two all-NBA level players and the Blazers can only boast one.

The Clippers are going to be a real matchup problem with Williams, Billups and Paul spreading the floor for Griffin.

until griffin starts playing defense that's extremely debatable. it's debatable on offense also now
that LMA will be the focus of ours full time.

assuming he doesn't plan to sign an extension with the clips this summer i think it's surprising paul consented to opt in for 2012/2013. seems like he's taking a pretty massive financial risk given his knee has an unknown expiration date.
