Look people it's a nice "depth" signing, but ... oh to hell with it, enjoy.

 

Yeah....this is a prett low risk move as far as signings go. Let's just see how this pans out.

im not a huge fan of crawford, but hes likely better than ewill, at worst hes another chip to spin off at the deadline

 

Not the best news, but still good. Jcross, Felton, Wes, Batum all have the ability to spread the floor. Hopefully, our percentages are better this year.

 

I know I am in the extreme minority on this, but to me, all this does is push us down further in the draft making it harder to rebuild. Also a player option next year eats up cap space. Takes away playing time from young guys that we need to see if they can play.

 

if those figures are correct, it looks like we outbid the next closest offer by 3.5 million over 2 years...meh

he would have been infinitely more sexy at 2/7mil or one year

He's a lottery pick. That's how you said to build, lottery picks. There you go. Maybe he pushed us from 18-21 in the draft, oh no. But, of course you would have a negative thing to say on it.

 

I hope Roy doesn't have hard feelings about being Amnestied.

 

I'll be honest I don't think he moves the win-loss needle much at all; he'll provide some offense, but he could end up giving it all back with his _efense. The cap room issue and PT for young guys is a valid concern though. Oh well.

Makes you wonder how smart Crawford is. Indiana offered him a 2-year deal for $10 million, but he turned it down for the 1-year deal from Portland so he could "cash in" on free-agency next year.

But by then he'll be a 12-year vet. I really wonder if he'll get better offers next summer . . .

 

So what if he does? Either way he gets paid every last cent owed to him.

Nope, I have changed my tune. I am all for mediocrity and average. Never being good enough to compete for a title is the way to go. Always make the playoffs as a 6 seed and always draft BPA that might never play in the league.
