I think is either Wes or Batum really impresses early, McMillan will pick and stick with them. He won't yank them game to game. And, yeah, like I said, if healthy, our 8 man rotatation is solid and our finishing unit looks tough against all but the elite teams. We have got two ball handlers on the floor. We have multiple guys who can penetrate. Multiple guys who can shoot threes. A great inside force. And every guy on the floor can knock down an open jumper. It would be all about spacing the floor properly and taking what the defense gives you.
Congrats guys. Crawford is a good player and is a good guy. The mrs. HCP meet & greet must have sealed the deal!
yes and all of those players were drafted in the mid teens us improving by a couple draft slots doesnt hurt our chances at a superstar as much as it helps get us out of the first round i mean what are you advocating here? full on tank? sit out lma for the season? get a top 5 pick and THEN hope we hit that 15% chance for a superstar with the pick?
I like LMA a lot. He's a very good player ... he's also what 27, 28 this year? I guess it's possible he could have another "leap" in him, but I think your plan is a little dodgy.
I did not know this: Three times in his career he has scored 50 or more points, including a career-high 52 in 2007 with New York. He also scored 50 with Golden State and 50 with Chicago.
Dirk ninth overall Wade fifth overall Duncan first overall And no, I'm not "advovating" anything, I was pointing out the fallacy in the idea that champions are built by means other than sucking ass enough to draft a true difference maker.
Just turned 26. Has been given opportunity to be "the man" for maybe half a season only. That plan might be dodgy, but a plan of trading him away to get high enough into the lottery, to maybe draft someone better is damned dodgy also.
That was on ESPN the other day as one of the factoids, I think....only guy to score 50+ with 3 different teams, and only 1 big game away from making it 4!
Keep in mind that his first two years, he wasn't counted on as being "The Man"; hell only until last year was when he got to that position. So in other words; he hasn't logged the type of minutes that normal "Savior players" logged before they turned 28. We can also look at players like Jermaine Oneal that really didn't develop until late in his career. So sometimes the "ceiling" depends on the player, environment and work ethic.
Can you imagine sitting down 3 years ago and explaining to someone that replacing Roy and Oden with Crawford and K Thomas would be an upgrade?
I'm going to root for my team to WIN! I don't know about you guys but I hated the PatterNash years where we got blown out by 20 every game. I think its going to be extremely difficult to get a championship no matter how the team tries, so I'd rather see us be as competitive as we can and hope we get a lucky player in a trade/draft/free agency to push us over the top. No matter what we'll have to be lucky to win a title so I'd rather try by building a winner then building a loser. Now if we didn't have LaMarcus I could see trying to rebuild like the Bobcats are doing. But until we don't have any solid all-star on this team I wanna see us compete.
Can you imagine telling someone 4 years ago, we'll get the number one draft, his knee will go out and never contribute much. Oh and Brandon Roy will also have to retire early due to medical issues. But we'll still have a play off shot.
not sure what this is supposed to mean... also, picked before dirk that year were: olowakandi mike bibby raef lafrentz antwan jamison vince carter tractor trylor jason williams and larry hughes besides maybe vc, i guess their tanking plans didnt go so smooth?
