Yeah, now that Rudy's playing against us Smith won't let him slap us silly and make us overreact and get thrown out of the game like...never mind.
I listened to his news conference a little while ago I like/respect this guy and agree on makin him GM, get er done!
Too bad we didn't have him last year to knock JJ Barera on his ass. We needed a legit backup PF. Seems like a pretty good signing. I wonder if he'll complete with Thomas for the backup PF position, or if Thomas will be playing backup center. I actually hope Chris Johnson gets the backup C position.
Very good signing. I don't think he'll get many minutes, but he adds serviceable depth in the frontcourt which we needed.
Two solid signings by our GMs. Way to go, Triforce. I think he will bring even more toughness to our bench.
With Felton playing with all our young guards, mabe Jamal Crawford will get fewer minutes than Craig Smith.
Who's gonna be the 3rd IR guy other than Oden, Babbitt? With this signing we have 15 players and I'm worried my beloved Armon Johnson becomes 13th on the depth chart...
With the addition of Crawford, and his ability to back up both guard spots, I see either Armon Johnson or Elliot Williams being the third player on the inactive list come opening night (assuming Aldridge has been cleared to play). It will depend on how they perform in training camp. I'm pulling for Elliot Williams to make the active roster as I think he could have more of an immediate impact than Armon Johnson and also has a higher "upside". With Felton, Crawford, and Nolan Smith all capable of playing PG, I just don't see Armon getting much PT this season. Imagine how crowded the PG position would be if we still had Patty Mills.
I count 14, so you can sleep like a baby. C Marcus Camby Kurt Thomas Chris Johnson Greg Oden F LaMarcus Aldridge Gerald Wallace Nicolas Batum Craig Smith Luke Babbitt G Raymond Felton Wesley Matthews Jamal Crawford Armon Johnson Elliot Williams Nolan Smith Edit: You counted right! It's 15.
Since Armon has a head start over the 2 rookies (Elliot or Nolan) getting used to the league, the chances are good that for any given game, at least one of them will be considered less useful than Armon. I just realized that since there are so many Williams and Smiths and Johnsons in the world, I may start calling them Elliot and Nolan and Armon.
