Ha! About time for some action. Right when I've got a break from work too, so I can get all sucked in... Who knows what these guys are going to be able to do with this weird break. It'll look rough, for sure. Thank goodness the system is already in place. Rip had some funny comments about thinking he was just going to step in and click, but he's more like a college student stumped at the first homework set. We've got some advantage with the continuity. Miami has the advantage with it's stellar talent and clear-ish hierarchy. Some new blood out there, too. Could be an interesting season.
He may play, but he's not starting. Thibs said so. Hamilton is a game time decision according to an article on ESPN Chi
Ahhhannnd its over. Didn't watch it. Happy we won, but eh. It looks as though it was as ugly as last year's playoff games. Blecch. Bench strong again. And was Jimmy Butler actually good?
I downloaded a poor quality capture online because League Pass wasn't showing the game. [Start rant. NBA, I'm willing to put up with the regular price for League Pass even though there is a shortened season, but why do you refuse to carry preseason games? It's never good to fight your customers. Get your shit together. End rant.] -- The biggest story of the game was how inconceivably awful Boozer looked. He was five steps slow on offense and defense, and allowed Crazy T to go off again. He looked like he hasn't picked up a basketball all offseason, because . . . well . . . I'm sure he hasn't picked up a basketball all offseason. I spent the offseason defending Boozer but I'm just about done. Some posters at Real GM have started a thread about how Noah refused to give Boozer a high five after the game. It doesn't surprised me at all with the way Boozer played. -- Everyone else besides Boozer looked solid, if out of synch. The game was horrible in the first quarter, but after that, the players seemed to adjust to the speed of play and the ball was not unwatchable. Taj looked particularly fluid. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more improvement from him. Asik looks out of shape which doesn't surprise me -- I imagine it's more difficult for him to keep his conditioning given his size. -- The Pacers look good. I think Crazy T, Hibbert and Paul George all looked improved. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pacers finished with a better record than the Celtics or Knicks. -- Butler looked very refined for a rookie who has only had a week or so of practice. He defended well and made a number of nice plays. He was a little more rough on offense -- he hasn't figured out the timing down yet, but he flashed some nice moves. We'll have to keep a close eye on Butler. It's not completely out of the question that he is the Bulls' answer at the two guard, though obviously it's just conjecture at this point.
I think it's a problem with Comcast. You actually can't purchase LP yet, I've tried. They say it'll be set up on Monday, but that sounds like they're just trying to buy time. Hey Denny: What did you think of Booz's performance? I am surprised at how upset it made me.
DRose does need to step up his game in one way - making his teammates better. It seems like he gets his and the others have to get theirs. Boozer had a Deron Williams who did make his guys better. And looking at the stats, Boozer's numbers are in line with 15/10. He should be 20+/10.
