It's a fishy situation. Greg, and his agent btw, went to Colorado and passed with flying colors. The same day he signed the QO. The team doctors evaluated him in Portland and found a suspect ligament. QO was renegotiated. Incompetent doctors or Oden and his agent were trying to pull a fast one. It's been awfully quiet down at One Center Court about the entire situation.
Nah, it'll be like he never left. Where's that picture of him dunking in college? It'll be like that.
Wasn't the loose ligament picked up by an MRI? Regular physicals wouldn't have an MRI used so if he just had a regular physical with no MRI in Colorado then they wouldn't have picked it up.
In the video at the college game Oden seem too have a noticeable limp, but at fan fest he seem to walk with no limp. I sure hope he plays this year healthy!!
With his injury history? That's incredibly unlikely. And yes, he was absolutely in Colorado to have an MRI. Odds are those same MRIs were delivered to the Blazers and they made their own interpretation of the images.
If I were Oden, I'd get on a really strict diet. I hear he drinks a lot, and alcohol can make the bones more brittle...perhaps the tendons as well. It may all be for naught, but I think it's worth a shot. Something is wrong with his body though, all these non basketball related injuries are not accidents.
You'd expect the opposite, though. Miller, Chad, and Nate have all used the term "setback" repetitively.
Which is why I think Mike Rice is way out of line even commenting on this stuff. He's a broadcaster, he's not privy to Oden's medical records and presumably nobody in the organization is feeding him information when it's really none of his business. My vote is for Vodka-Kool-Aid
If it is the vodka talking, it might actually be true - there was no "setback" because he NEVER intended to play this season.
Anybody know who that 7-foot behemoth sitting behind the Blazers bench at the RG tonight was? I would've guessed Oden, but apparently he had something better to do tonight, per the informed posters on this board.
He never intended to play this season. At all. Just do yourselves a favor and give up on him. Move on. Ignore. It's over. He will not play this season, and he will be on another team next season. He's not worth our time any longer.
What he's been through is rough. But he's been paid $21m for his suffering. I'd gladly walk a mile in his shoes.
