You ugly short-haired mutts have always been jealous of us beautiful long-hairs. Babbitt is needed in practice because we lack forwards. The guy to go would be Armon, who is such a poor PG decision-maker that Nate has declared him a SG.

I don't know if it hatred as much as being disappointed with the Blazers top draft pick two years ago.

Any top 20 first round draft pick is going to to get analyzed on this board for at least a couple of years. I think that is fair. It's not like Babbit signed for the league minimum or was called up from D-league. Blazer management went out of their way to pick Babbit as hope for a player who will add to the organization. There are more expectations from a situation like that than say the 2nd round picks of Pendy, Daunte, Johnson and others.

It's all relative. Look how many threads on Oden as the #1 pick. Babbit being the 16th pick (?). . . it's actually kind of sad how little discussion there is of him. The day the board stops discussing him must mean it is over for Babbit and it becomes official that Babbit was a bad draft pick . . . or is that already official?

You've never hated a player because they just annoyed you? Steve Nash is another guy that just annoys me because of how he looks.

Last night was the "first real glimpse"? 26 minutes of a preseason game? Really?

He played 33 minutes in a game last year (in a REAL game) against the Warriors... he also had a double double in that game (although took a lot of shots to get there).

Did you not see that game last year? I'm confused as to why last night would be the first real glimpse... and why 26 minutes would define who a player is and what he will ever be.
    Irrational.

I agree that it makes sense to talk about--and even criticize--first rounders, including Babbitt.

But does reasonable "analysis" including supporting cutting a first round before he starts his second year? I don't think so.

Strange. I hardly agree with you. But, it seems like we were watching the same Babbitt last night. He looked good to me. He was active. Made some contested shots. Played decent enough D. He makes those open 3's and he would be the 2nd coming around this place.

He looked OK to me. I wonder if he can still be OK when he is not playing against the mirror (Utah's Luke Babbit).

No. Acting like a child would be blasting Blazer fans on this forum for liking Babbitt, even though no one on here thinks he's going to be great.

Quit acting like your enlightening us, or something. We all know that Babbitt sucks.

I never understand just how these threads and comments make people feel better about their own inadequacies and pathetic lives....Obviously he can play basketball, and people with more knowledge have seen enough to keep him around.

Let's pick the 15th player on the team and attack! Fucking sad.

I didn't even see anything Sue BIRD like. No.

He's just one final Pritch Slap on the way out the door. Stupid 50/40/90 pick.

The best part of this whole thread? ILOVEODEN got BANNED over Luke Freakin Babbitt. That alone is sure to make Babbitt a new fan favorite.
