Telfair/Ratliff can't be traded until August 28th, so if the deal is involving them, then it's not happening for a nother month and a half.</div>Hmm... I forgot about that, so then I'm guessing either the trade doesn't involve Iverson to Boston, or it involves other players coming from Boston, or perhaps it will have to wait until August 28th.
I really think that Portland will be involved, trading some combination of Darius Miles, Juan Dixon, Steve Blake or Zach Randolph. This sounds like a deal that would have a lot of talent being swapped. They wouldn't put in this much effort for a D Miles for Marco Jaric type deal. Iverson could be gone, and it wouldn't necesarily mean the Celtics trading Telfair or Ratliff. There would be other teams that could give players to the Sixers. The trade could also involve Denver with KMart and/or Ruben Patterson. Overall though, this sounds like it's just a rumor, with no real substance to it. It would definently be exciting though.
Some poster on another board with like ten post who claims to be an insider said that there is a giant trade in the works where the wolves end up with kenyon martin and darius miles. Again this rumor has no backing besides a nube who probably made it up, but I decided to throw it out here.
I'm hearing on the Arizona sports board that the Suns might be one of the 6 teams. It has to do with them getting Salmons from the Sixers....

Phoenix gets John Salmons, and Philadelphia gets a second round pick and PHX's trade exemption from the Joe Johnson deal.
Update: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>8 Team, 19 Player Trade? Written by Eze Thursday, 13 July 2006 According to multiple sources, in a story broken by Sacramento's Grant Napier on Tuesday evening sports radio, owners and general managers are scrambling to put the finishing touches on a massive 8 team trade. Originally slated to include 6 teams and 16 players two other clubs jumped in on the action Wednesday night bringing the total players involved to as many as 19.The Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers may go down as the franchise who started it all with their heavy shopping of guard Allen Iverson. Golden State is rumored to be the new home of the electric guard who has NBA Finals experience, an All-Star game MVP trophy, and a league in scoring to his credit. Golden State is set to send out forward Troy Murphy in the deal. The Denver Nuggets are looking to settle the fued between head coach George Karl and disgruntled and oft-injured power forward Kenyon Martin. The New York Knicks have coveted Martin seeking to place the rugged forward alongside Eddy Curry. The Knicks are set to send out Steve Francis to make room for KMart. Also outgoing from Denver would be guard Andre Miller. The Sacramento Kings appear on the verge of losing guard Bonzi Wells but will seek to sign and trade him in this massive scenerio. Meanwhile the Indiana Pacers will be sending out forward/center Jeff Foster, guard Jamaal Tinsley, and forward Stephen Jackson. The Atlanta Hawks are in the action looking to sign and trade forward Al Harrington. The Seattle Supersonics are rumored to be the 8th team as they are looking to sign and trade Chris Wilcox who's contract negotiations have come to an impasse.Eight other players are involved in order to make the salaries match under the current CBA rules.A huge press conference is scheduled for Friday afternoon as long as all parties can agree and the league approves this NBA record sized transaction.</div>
LMAO at an 8 team, 19 player trade. There's no way it'll work out. It's probably two seperate huge deals.
Everybody, this deal was actually called in by a fan in Atlanta to there 90.7 station. Grant Napear got word of it, and somebody at Kingsfans.com posted it. Bonzi isn't going to be dealt for Foster and Sarunas. just a rumor, that has since been debunked. So all of this is just random speculation.
Yeah, Golden State has already dropped out of the Iverson running, because they were just willing to give up Baron Davis. There are only two destinations for Iverson, maybe three (alphabetical order): Atlanta, Boston and Minnesota.
I don't believe that 8 team rumor, all Golden State would have to give up to get Iverson in return is TROY MURPHY?!?!?!?

I still think that Iverson probably wouldn't be headed there, though.

Players buy houses all over the place to get away during the summer. If he was being traded to Atlanta I would expect a little more talk about it then we have heard so far.

It does not mean it won't, but it be hard to get that big deal with so many teams/players to all work out. I am glad AI is not going to Golden State if they really not interested in him any more. And there are 4 maybe 5 were AI can go. Minny (To Play With KG), Denver (Still needs a shooting guard they really want AI), Boston (Want AI), ATL (I hope he does not go there), and even Memphis, or Clippers might try to get Iverson. My first choice for AI would be Minny, and then Denver.
If this does go through (100-1 it doesn't, though), then it's going to create a colossal headache for whoever has to check and file these things.
