needs to happen!! The Sooners and Cowboys need to be in the Pac 7 south... Imagine the battle of UofO vs OU in the championship games plus OSU's high flying offense? USC will have real competition in their division and the Sooners and Osu fan bases are great ones that travel for games and bowls. It would also help recruiting into Texas for everyone... The Big 12 is a joke now and the OK schools are tired of being the basterd children to big money UT!

It's a great fit for both us and them! The Pac-14 would be in the same breath as the SEC and the voters and polls would reflect that!

If we did that, then we'd have to move Utah into the North division, meaning that they (and Colorado) would have no "natural" rival in division. To correct that, I think we would also need to absorb BYU and...Air Force?

No--if we add the OK schools, we'd need to add two Texas schools as well (could do the Kansas schools, but nobody wants them), and unless Texas is on board, that's probably not happening.

What exactly do the Oklahoma schools bring to the table?

The reason you HAVE to bring an Oklahoma school in is to get TEXAS

I would still love to see Texas and OU join the PAC. I want the super conference to battle the SEC. You add Texas and the two Oklahoma schools and you've got some serious firepower.

I honestly think the PAC would move up in a lot of peoples eyes if they added Texas, Okla, Okie ST, and BYU. They won't add BYU, but they should

I don't think the Pac-12 needs Texas at all!!! The Sooners have 7 national championships, Texas 3, and OSU is turning into a monster football program!! Texas bring nothing but financial headaches, and in my eyes unearned swagger!! Texas Longhorns and the Cowboys are the same
hubbub, all talk and no results but much money spent! HAHA! What bowl is Texas in this year?
OU and OSU would give us all the punch we need and still keep the Pac-14 financially happy with all the teams getting equal shares.

I'm confused here are you saying OSU is about to be a monster football program then saying they are all talk? Or are you referring to the Dallas Cowboys or something?

Texas is a money-making machine. I agree that their on-field results haven't matched their hype in the last decade (or two) or so, but that hasn't slowed their revenue generation.

If the Pac-XX wanted to overtake the SEC as the premier conference for college football, it would need to add Texas as part of any expansion.

    Wheels..

No I'm saying OSU is about to be a monster football program "picking up B Sanders kid too next year" and will beat Texas for years to come. I am saying that Texas is a lot of Swagger with very little result as of the last decade! Sorry was saying Dallas Cowboys... lumped them together for another great texas product...

Ed O... I agree Texas is a cash cow but honestly it's fools gold! They are the Notre Dame of the SouthWest! A team most in the country could care less about watching these days, especially since they are getting worked by the Sooners, Cowboys, TTech, TCU and such...

Texas also has a tv contract that has pissed 3 teams in their own conference off enough to leave..

Adding Texas to the Pac-12 is bowing down to a bully you can kick the shit out of and that's why the Pac-12 told um to take a flying Longhorn!!

Notre Dame of the SW is a pretty damn good analogy, but your conclusions are wrong.

Notre Dame has a BCS tie-in, a national solo TV contract on a major network, and the ability to play whomever, wherever they want.

If Texas was guaranteed the same deal Notre Dame has, they'd be an independent tomorrow.

I'm thinking that's exactly what Texas was and is hoping for, to be the Notre Dame of the SW with the same perks those lame Irish get. Their TV deal is not a small one either! Hell if everyone leaves of worth in the Big 12 they'll get the automatic bcs bid too.. beating WVU and Kansas can't be that hard..

The Big 12 has gotten significantly worse due to Texas's greed! Husker, Buffs, Tigers and A&M all gone...

Texas is more than just football, you realize. They are perennially one of the top two overall athletic departments in the country (with Stanford being the other). Plus, they are (quite simply and by far) the most popular school in the third-most populous state in the country. Expansion necessitates financial value, and despite Oklahoma's history and success, Texas simply brings more eyeballs to the TV.

Expansion to 14 doesn't make sense (explained earlier), and expansion to 16 doesn't make sense without Texas. Plain and simple.

A Pac-14 or16 with Texas the way they are currently configured would be insane for the Pac-12 to agree to! Which is why they didn't!! Texas gets the majority of the money in their own conference now for being very very very average! I'm sorry but hoops and football are where the money is in college, and Texas isn't better than OU in football by any means, and not better than UCLA in hoops or ever could hope to be if we're talking tradition which their past seems to be what this debate is building from? So allowing them to come into the Pac-12 and dictate their form of what a conference is would freaking insulting to every team from UW to USC!!! It's why they don't have a conference now!! Or maybe it was missed that 4 of the Big 12 schools are no longer there and could not wait to escape the Texas way of doing football.

I for one think the minute OU and OSU bolt Texas will have truly gotten what they do want. A conference where an average program "THEM", that would have had 4 losses in Pac-12 this year, can go undefeated beating up on teams like WVU, Kansas, Kansas St. and BYU..... while holding a huge TV deal and an automatic bid to a BCS! What could be better? Hell even Notre Dame has to play USC and Michigan yearly...

With OU and OSU in conference, big bowl games will not be in Texas's future for years to come!

I wonder how many eyeballs they'll bring to the tube watching them beat on Kansas and WVU every year? In the meantime the Pac-12 could have the Sooners vs USC and OSU for Oregon... I can't imagine The Game Day Crew wouldn't want to be at those games!?!
