But Huevon, didn't you know !? Charlie V is gonna be a Laker soon. So Stern is helping us out ;]!

Yeah, really.. don't see the problem here. 4 games out of 66 is near the same as 5 for 82. Makes sense, and as noted it was done for Villanueva as well, so.

I'm fine with Bynum getting a multiple games suspension (which is what he's getting) I just thought the over-the-top hyperbole about suspending him for a year was ridiculous. I just used the Andre Miller hit as an example of a Blazer doing something pretty dirty (which I thought was pretty awesome btw) and figured "Chris_in_pdx" would want his same stringent standards applied universally.

Based on that, shouldn't the players give back ~20% of their salaries for the 2011-12 season?

I think their salaries are already pro-rated.

Salaries are prorated for the number of games played this year ...

Will all penalties this season be pro-rated, or only Laker ones?

When a player does a $20,000 punch, or a 10-game drug suspension, will he get 66/82 of that amount?

Only if a Laker is involved. And you can bet half the suckers in this thread will go along with it, not noticing the inconsistent, one-time waiver of the rules--which Stern will NOT make happen the rest of the season. Unless a Laker's involved.

You mean only if a Laker or a Piston is involved?

Clearly the league is not biased towards the Lakers, they're terrified of them getting two more superstars.
