What do you guys think of using whatever we have left on Flip Murray? I think he showed in the 2nd round that he can be a dependable scorer, if the Pistons use their bi-annual exception on Chucky Atkins or to re-sign Tony Delk then I say we give Acker a shot just in case Delfino falters. HoLLa baCk
I agree that Flip would be a good addition to our squad. A combo guard that can light up the score boards in a hurry, just what we need. Also, I agree that we don't need Chucky or Tony as much as I had thought. Acker is lighting up the summer league and I think he is a solid backup if we give him the minutes he needs to produce.
Acker scored 29 points the other day. I like Acker as the third option for point. Chucky, Tony, or even Brevin Knight aren't needed. I would like Flip on the team (Flip x2 ) Seriously, though, he's multi-talented, and Rip might need a proven backup.
I'm not so sure about this guy. He strikes me as one of those players who needs to play 30 minutes a night in order to get in a rhythm. His playoff games under 25 a night are terrible. This isn't exactly the efficent scorer the Pistons need off that bench. The only option of the three - Murray, Atkins, and Delk - only Atkins has delivered in the postseason.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2520208According to this link it most likely has happend or at least the Pistons and Flip Murray have agreed to terms. I guess Bonzi Wells asking price was too high for the Pistons and even if they signed him they would be over the cap. Even tho I would of loved to see Bonzi in a Pistons uni I think we got good value for Flip Murray, especially from one of our rivals the Cavs. I am assuming w/ the signing of Murray we are just about the cap and can't afford Tony Delk or Chucky Atkins to be Billups' baCk up?Maybe Acker could do something this year or maybe even Will Blalock, we need either of the 2 to step it up or re-sign Delk or sign Chucky because we need to cut down on Chauncey's minutes. I wanted him to stay in Cleveland... The Pistons got him for really cheap. Well, I wish him the best in Detroit--he would be a great contributor coming off the bench.
Considering you guys were going to give him the whole MLE at the start, this was a nice deal. It's always nice to wait in free agency when free agents realize what their market is and their driving price goes down. Sort of like with Marcus Banks right now. Good pickup, does this mean Delfino gets his wish.
