I will say when Wes went out early in the 3rd with the tweaked back and Batum came in at the SG, I liked the combination on the court. (Especially when Jimmer tried to guard Nic). I am leaning to Nic as the starting SG.

Nobody mentioned Kurt Thomas! My boy played great interior defense again tonight. He owns the paint....... his new nickname is Shermann Williams!

    Who is the second player?

Portland has been lucky to play two teams that they are better than to start the year. What they did that others didn't was beat teams they were supposed to. The great news is all that's wrong with this team can easily be fixed.....not that there is that much wrong

Let's see how they do away from home

When Nico is on and playing aggressive like that then that could be a deadly line-up some nights depending on who we are playing. He was flat out abusing Jimmer. Not that Jimmer is a great defender but I loved that aggressiveness from Batum. And it would only make our defense that much better. It will be interesting to see how the line-up shapes up as the season progresses. It was a flash of what Nic could bring and what he has been doing over the pond.

I am not sure how the Jimmer and Ty. Evans are gong to co-exist on the court at the same time. On paper it should work as Evans at 6'6' can guard the 2guard. But neither have true PG skills. One of them will be moved IMO for a true PG.

Wallace and Aldridge, obviously. Which one would you dispute?

Both and neither all at the same time. MM gets off on being frigid and being contrary for the sake of being contrary. You haven't figured that out yet?

Wallace and lma. But just think, if the other players just shot as good as their career averages, how good we would be?!

Sure--I just wanted to offer an opportunity to clarify the contrary opinion.

Our starting forwards are playing like all-nba studs, they will be the strength of this team. Hopefully our backcourt can turn this around, I have a little bit of the scary feeling of the last few seasons we had Rasheed on our team, our big men would dominate games but Damon and Derek Anderson would be atroucous during our losses. The games Damon or Derek would shoot close to 50% we would be extremely hard to beat, it's just those nights were uncommon.

It seems odd that although we dont really have any "great" shooters it seems like we have enough good shooters that this shouldnt be a problem since you would think at least one guy would be having a good night from outside. But unfortunately it has been like this for awhile. When we are on from outside we can beat anyone, anywhere, anytime. If not though ... ugh ... it gets ugly sometimes. But running more helps those nights quite a bit.

Watching the kings broadcast of the game and into the end of the 3rd. The announcers mood is changing big time. They are starting to complain about the kings making bad mistakes.

Quite "boy the kings really need to get going here". Saying Evans is really hurting bad with Batum on him.

Kings backcourt combined 4-16. Salmons not a factor too.
