But what are you're thoughts of Daniel Gibson? The reason I bring him up is he's a quick guard that has been deep in the playoffs. He is a career reserve; which means he's not going to go all Wah Wah to Nate if he's not starting. He's young enough to be a capable back-up for Felton, and actually play a combo/PG roll as well. He is a decent outside shooter, well at least from 3 (41% career). He's a little "costly" since he demands 4.4 mil, so that maybe the biggest "HELL NO" factor. But hey, I'm just putting it out there. Another player much like him could be Aaron Brooks. But isn't he bound to China?
Brooks is stuck in China until March, iirc. I'm not a huge fan on Boobie Gibson, but he is an outside shooter. How are you planning on getting him?
That's tough... Let me see Well now that I look at it; I doubt we want to part with any player to make it work. I guess the only true way would be sending Wallace and Babbit for Boobie and Varejo and that just doesn't sit well with me one bit.
Boobie is a good thought. We need shooting desperately. Speaking of shooting, does anyone know how Diebler is doing in Greece? I thought he might have a legit shot at making the roster this year because he's the only consitent shooter we have.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jon-Diebler-1410/stats/ This all I can find... shooting over 57% from 3pt in 8 games.
It would be unusual to sign a guard. We usually sign big guys, not guards, because all we ever draft is guards (exceptions: Babbitt and Batum).
If Nic truly has value around the league, then maybe a Camby/Nic/Armon for Varejao/Casspi/Gibson deal would work. Saves them a bunch of money and gives them a young talented SF to pair with Irving as a rebuild core, and gives us a center to pair with LA long-term.
I think you would be in unpopular company, to trade off Batum instead of Wallace. I would be in the same "unpopular company" as you though.
Yeah, I don't expect that suggestion to be well received, but I'll take production over potential 8 days a week.
I could go for that. I like Nic, but he's certainly not untouchable in my opinion. The only reason I've brought up trading Wallace (elsewhere) is his age and contract status. Getting a somewhat promising wing player in Casspi and a good defensive big who's not three steps from the glue factory would be good value.
