This is why this years Blazers are special, and will be successful: http://blogs.trailblazers.com/Publi...99/EntryID/3311/IamaUserID/13183/Default.aspx nice piece about the team's chemistry brought to you by my girl Sarah
Very nice read.... I feel this vibe as well. We may not be the best talent out there, but these guys do "play for each other"... It makes you proud to be a fan. With the league filled with "ME, ME, ME" attitude. It's really nice to see this camaraderie now.
The Blazers have beaten 3 very mediocre teams. "Chemistry" is a myth. Talent wins in the NBA. The Blazers will be very lucky to get out of the first round in a very down year in the West.
Denver isn't Mediocre and a lot of ESPN analysts have predicted them to be a top 4 team in the west this year. We defiantly need to beat more good teams before we can say anything though.
I mean, come on, OKC or MIA should have easily won it all if its all about Talent! Durant/Westbrook were killing it in the playoffs, with even just a little 'Chemistry,' they would have at least made it to the Finals. And don't get me started on Miami, Wade is one of The Best, the best, two guards in the history of the game, coupled with Labron the ultimate specimen. There's no reason they don't win it all, each and every year, unless perhaps theres of a lack of chemistry.
"play for each other" sounds like something Nate would tell them to get pumped up. Like "play gritty and scrap"
Chemistry is a myth? Uh, yeah. How about that team we had in, what 1999 or so, when we added Rod Strickland late? We were tearing up the league, add Rod, and everything fell apart. He should have made us stronger, deeper. Instead, from the day we signed him, the wheels absolutely fell off. Several players have admitted the chemistry was fragile on that team, and the signing of Strickland shattered it. How about the 2010 SF Giants? Yes, I know it's another sport, and yes their pitching was awesome, but they came together and had fun and had great chemistry, and they all give a lot of credit to their chemistry carrying them to a championship.
i don't think chemistry is a myth but i'd take anything coming off the trailblazers website with a huge grain of salt. this team is 3-0 after beating one decent, one very mediocre and one pretty bad team, all at home mind you. let's see how they do on the road and when some adversity hits. i like the makeup of the team but to say they are something "special" based off what we've seen is extremely pre-mature.
Good chemistry may not be a myth.....but until you see how a team faces adversity, there is no point in claiming a team has it.
When you have a bunch of experienced players, you usually have chemistry. Of course, there are exception players, but experience is the first step toward probable chemistry. We had to get rid of Pritchard to take that obvious step.
