Congress, the House, and Obama have successfully overthrown The United States Of America. Americans now have no more Freedom than they would if martial law had been declared. They can be rounded up like cattle at the whim of the military-industrial complex. They can be hidden, detained and tortured until the day they die. They can be murdered simply for offering any resistance. Other than the ACLU, not one single representative of the people offered anything but token objections to the most treasonous legislation in the history of America. Not only did it pass nearly unanimously, Obama lied when he promised he would veto it. For over a year the Feds have been compiling a master list of all un-registered gun-owners with the cooperation of state agencies which regulate hunting. DHS is already hiring over 100,000 internment officers to man the camps[/I] immediately. Test roundups of suspected illegal aliens have been occuring daily for some time now. http://www.racelies.com/2011/12/fema-camps-mexicans-other-latinos-put.html http://theupliftingcrane.wordpress.com/2011/12/08/next-american-concentration-camps/ A recently released KBR documented confirms that elements of the U.S. government have moved to activate FEMA Camps nationwide. The document covers KBR’s call for subcontractors that could supply various functions of these camps including temporary fencing and barricades, catering services, medical and laundry services, power generation, refuse collection, and other services required for a temporary “emergency environment.” In some states the plan calls for upwards of 30 processing centers. The subcontractors are expected to be able to activate their parts of the camps 72 hours after the order is made. Here is the document: http://static.infowars.com/2011/12/i/general/kbr-doc.pdf DHS Coordinating Occupy Arrests Following a crackdown by police on Occupy Wall Street protesters around the nation, Oakland, California, mayor Jean Quan mentioned during an interview with the BBC that she was on a conference call with leaders of 18 US cities shortly before a wave of raids broke up Occupy Wall Street encampments across the country. It was later discovered that the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and other federal police agencies had coordinated the often violent response to the protests. In addition to the DHS characterizing Americans supporting states’ rights and the Constitution as terrorists, the Defense Department’s Antiterrorism and Force Protection Annual Refresher Training Course in 2009 advised its personnel that political protest amounts to “low-level terrorism.” http://www.projectcensored.org/top-...cts-kbr-to-build-detention-centers-in-the-us/ This is the singular, solitary reason The Second Amendment was conceived and enacted. To prevent a military coup. It will be interesting to see how many servicemen and servicewomen actually have the stones to uphold their oath to protect Americans, and how many are simply paid stooges. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/31/obama-defense-bill_n_1177836.html WASHINGTON -- Indefinite military detention of Americans became the law of the land Saturday, as President Barack Obama signed a defense bill that codified that authority, even as he said he would not use it. The National Defense Authorization Act states how the military is to be funded, but also includes a number of controversial provisions on arresting and holding suspected terrorists, which at first drove Obama to threaten a veto. He retreated from that threat after Congress added provisions that took the ultimate authority to detain suspects from the military's hands and gave it to the president. Still, the signing on New Year's Eve as few people were paying attention angered civil liberties advocates, who argue that the law for the first time spells out certain measures that have not actually been tested all the way to the Supreme Court, including the possibility of detaining citizens in military custody without trial for as long as there is a war on terror. "President Obama's action today is a blight on his legacy because he will forever be known as the president who signed indefinite detention without charge or trial into law,” said Anthony Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union. "The statute is particularly dangerous because it has no temporal or geographic limitations, and can be used by this and future presidents to militarily detain people captured far from any battlefield," Romero added. "The ACLU will fight worldwide detention authority wherever we can, be it in court, in Congress or internationally.” Civil liberties advocates like Romero pointed out that once the provisions are law, however, they will be available to a President Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney or any future president, who could choose to use the powers granted more aggressively. "We are incredibly disappointed that President Obama signed this new law even though his administration had already claimed overly broad detention authority in court," said Romero. "Any hope that the Obama administration would roll back the constitutional excesses of George Bush in the war on terror was extinguished today."
Ron Paul voted against it. Rand Paul took to the senate floor to speak out against it. What we don't need is 4 more years of a president who will sign such laws. Obama 2012 (NOT!)
But wasn't obama supposed to promise us CHANGE? I don't get it? He came into office with a Demo house and Senate. Why didn't we get this change? Why are our troops still in Iraq? I thought that was supposed to be the first order of business.
You define "treason" and "liberal" independent of how other people do, obviously. What is it like to be on such an intellectual and emotional island? Ed O.
You know better than I. Other people = Ed O? Granted the word "liberal" has been used to label so many different things as to render the term completely meaningless. For me it is an ideology that above all else stresses the protection of individual freedom(s). It's been decades since ANY US politician in office has fit that description. I think any American with an IQ above 80 and a basic understanding of The Constitution and The Bill of Rights would consider a conspiratorial mega-roundup of certain classes of Law-Abiding American Citizens and imprisoning them for life without due process or political representation to be treason. I'm interested in your definitions?
Liberal means tolerant of other viewpoints. In Europe, the word has been trashed to mean the nonsocialist party. The leading party in most European countries is called the Liberal Democrats, the Christian Liberal party, etc. In the U.S. the mass media, owned by Republicans, defines liberal as big spender. Aside from trying to define the word, I'll say this separately: Obama is no liberal. That's how Democrats get re-elected. They take the real liberal vote for granted and pursue the conservative vote. Obama won't fight the ruling forces, so he'll easily be re-elected. So, so many times, he has seen that he's going to lose a battle, so he hasn't fought it. He avoids principled, losing, stands. Most of Congress is for this legislation, so he just gave up. The real question is, how have intelligence agencies convinced most Congressmen that the U.S. is in a permanent internal war, a revolution, which requires such radical measures? I just don't see a revolutionary fervor around me, as I saw circa 1970. Why is most of Congress under this illusion?
I doubt many of them actually believe it, but they are ALL paid very handsomely by the 1% to vote as they do.
Sen. Graham is the key proponent of fighting a violent domestic war against the revolution he imagines, so I googled "Lindsey Graham" "internal war" and found a summary. http://blog.amnestyusa.org/waronterror/welcome-to-the-war/ Google tips tried to steer me into '"Lindsey Graham" gay' and showed me a pageful of articles which suspect him of that, which I didn't have time to read. Intelligence agencies like to depend upon blackmailable spokesmen, so it wouldn't surprise me.
I'll sleep easier knowing I can have any of you permanently locked up with just one drunken call to Homeland Security!
It means a lot to a lot of people, and by the definition of many people other than me there are plenty of liberal politicians in Congress, just like there are plenty of conservative ones. I don't think that that's a definition that is used by (m)any people other than you. Treason involves breaking laws of the land. I don't see how treason is involved when laws are passed. Ed O.
That's not it at all. Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) defines treason as "...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]." In many nations, it is also often considered treason to attempt or conspire to overthrow the government, even if no foreign country is aided or involved by such an endeavour.
Should I just have said "democrats" instead of liberal? Regardless my interpretation of liberals = extreme democrats. The ones that sit far to the left. Not socialists or communists, but those that have idealism that government is used to keep everyone fair. Am I wrong?
Well, that is generally the definition of a centrist or moderate. Nothing "left-wing" or "extremist" about fairness and equality. Supposedly, that is what our country stands for. Obviously, nobody who voted for this legislation has any intention of protecting or promoting fairness and equality. They have ALL proven they are ALL right-wing extremists by voting to castrate the basic premise of our country.
Making laws is not overthrowing the government--it's the reason for a government's existence. Therefore my point is pretty valid. Ed O.
