This board is the best board I've posted on, because of the moderators, so last night in another thread, I praised them and Denny. I meant it. SlyPokerDog is so much better than what you find at ESPN, just so much. Look at these guys dreaming of going to another board. http://espn.go.com/nba/team/forum/_/name/por/portland-trail-blazers#!/topic/1325312795-383-505
How would we realistically get cousins??? Not gonna happen. Not to mention we already had a wack job in sheed. U really think they would add cousins??
There are other factors as to why you should really consider Cousins: -Marcus Camby is 38 years old -Greg Oden is... yeah, I really don't have to say much here. -You look at the bigs in college and then you take a look at Scout.com's HS rankings and you'll realize there isn't a center prospect out there outside of Drummond that even comes close to DeMarcus. -Indiana is not going to give up Hibbert. Chicago is not going to give up Noah or Asik. There aren't many available.
If Cousins' talent could be harness he'd be a major force in the league. He's such a headcase though and that's probably not going to change. If we could get him for fairly cheap I think it'd be a great move. McMillan and all the vets on the team wouldn't put up with his shit. I think he projects to be similar to Bynum. Bynum is an asshole too but he's like a tamed version of Cousins.
Is there any way we could get him for Babbitt and Armon? How about a homecoming spin on this? Isn't Nevada close to the Bay Area?
A knucklhead is always a knucklehead. Cousins on his rookie contract is fine I suppose, but the real test will come when he gets a veteran contract and actually makes some real NBA money. A guy acting like an idiot on a rookie deal tells me he has some serious issues, and is probably going to be a troublemaker his entire career.
Holy shit. Is this real? It's honestly an offer anything and everything but Aldridge. Cousins is a dumb ass, but a super talented one that makes us better on the court
You know, as I read this I started thinking about guys that haven't followed that scenario, but couldn't off the top of my head.
We have young, cheap talent that would fit salary wise. Babbit, Elliot Williams and Armon Johnson. We're not using any of them - AT ALL.
I know Cousins's value is shot, but trading him for guys like Babbitt and Armon is nothing more than a salary dump. I'm sure they can get more.
After the way you killed ZBo for his character issues, I did not expect you to actually want Cousins.
I actually just think Cousins' only wants to win and he's easily rattled by savvy veteran players. I also don't think Sacramento has much in the way of veteran leadership outside of Hayes' who just got there, and am not a big fan of their coach.
I think it is the fact it didn't happen in Portland. I am a Raider fan and always believe in taking a chance. Plus I haven't followed him that closely
Westphal and Hawes had some beef a few years back. Then this happened:
Most just need a better coach. I usually dwell on McMillan's negatives, but he has his positives. He's good at making youth get organized. Management could exploit this coaching strength by occasionally bringing in a knucklehead to change him. Buy low, improve the property, sell high.
From what I hear out of Sac fans Westphal rarely runs the offense through him. Its basically the Tyreke show so Cousins gets a lot of drive and dish jumpers. Cousins does settle for low efficiency offense when he could be forcing the issue inside but Westphal is equally to blame for not really putting him in spots to his and the team's advantage. People always seem to compare him to a bigger D-Bo as a guy who everyone knows is tremendously talented but an immature moron. Down the line he could figure out winning basketball and be a force but I reckon it'll take him a few different teams and several years before that happens, if it ever does.
Against Portland, Cousins had his shot blocked by Kurt Thomas whose feet were still on the ground. I hate him and don't want him.
