Westphal has made a statement that DeMarcus Cousins has demanded a trade and will be staying at home for the time being. Dude is very talented but what a headcase. Reminds me of when AR demanded a trade just a year or two into his career. Somehow they managed to maintain his value and move him for David Lee but I don't know if the Kings will get anything but lowball offers for Cousins. W's management seems desperate to take flyers on young centers but would they actually move someone like Udoh, Klay, or Jeremy Tyler for Cousins? Why would he be any less of a cancer here? I assume some other team will make a strong play for Cousins though. Old contenders like Boston, San Antonio, or Dallas seem like candidates. Teams desperate for potential/star power like Charlotte or Cleveland could be options as well.
I don't want to have to root for Cousins...I don't mind trash talkers, but he's just a whiny little bitch, can't stand him.
I think Westphal had a reason to kick out Cousins. He's a team cancer. We don't need another Sprewell type guy on our hands. Man... and we're even thinking about signing Nate Robinson? Okay if we're going to get these guys who have issues, might as well take a chance on Cousins. Who do we give up? Udoh? Is that even enough? I'm not sold on Klay Thompson yet, but I wouldn't be talking trades, either (unless he sweetens the pot for a superstar). The problem I have with guys like Nate and Cousins is that they may create team instability even if they are good players http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/01/02/SP4E1MK281.DTL&feed=rss.warriors I think the only way it would work is if we have a player that can get him to shut up, listen, and learn. We don't even have that and maybe it's possible that Cousins is that much of headcase that he's unemployable.
