I've had this discussion on other forums and will stick with my opinion.1. Lakers2. Celtics3. BullsWhile the Celtics had the most championships, more then half of them came when there was only 8 teams in the league. Bulls dominated that era completely which was a tough one but they haven't done much since then.

The Lakers have been to the finals in every decade, since the 40's. They've had great teams in the 40's, 50's, 70's, 80's, and 00's.

All around? Probably the Lakers, because the Celtics have been shut out from a championship for a pretty long time now. If you are talking about individual dynasties it is obviously the Celtics with Cousy, Heinsohn, Hondo, Sharman, and Bill Russell in the 1950's-1960's that won 11 straight titles. Nothing did, and nothing will ever beat that dynasty. But if you are talking about best all around success throughh the decades for a basketball club? The Lakers. They have usually always had a good team except the period in between the Magic Johnson/KAJ days to the Shaq and Kobe dauys. But they were still good most of the seasons then. If that's what you mean, it is probably Lakers, Celtics, Bulls. Bulls havnt really done anything except the 6 titles that Michael and Scottie won them.

Is this topic supposed to be the greatest dynasty? And is this in the wrong forum? We have an Old School section.Wow Tony, your not on the ball today.I really liked the Lakers dynasty with Kareem, Magic, AC, James Worthy, Byron Scott, and Micheal Cooper. But I think that the Celtics dynasty with Bill Russell is the best. 11 titles in 13 years, if I'm right.

How can you go wrong with the Celtics? They have multiple Hall-of-Famers (as do the Lakers) and more championships than any other franchise. I mean look at the players we have had over the championship years - Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson, Robert Parish, Bill Walton, etc. etc. etc. The Lakers definitely are a close 2nd, no doubt, and you could argue either one and convince anyone. But at the end of the day, the Celtics have 16 championships (11 in 13 years!) and about 25 retired numbers.

Celtics may have a very rich history, but they havent been successful since the Larry Bird days. The team has gone downhill since the late '80s in terms of team success and didnt do much damage in the '90s 'till Paul Pierce came along and teamed up with Antoine Walker to make Boston playoff contenders in the early '00s. The Bulls were good, and they dominated an era of great teams, as well as great big men (which we dont have a lot of today. But other than Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, nobody else were big scoring options to be counted on every night. The Lakers are the greatest dynasty in NBA history, period. The Celtics steamrolled teams when they're werent even 15 teams in the league. They've had many great players, but that doesnt equal to the team success the Lakers have had in the past decades. I just loved how LA and Boston matchup up so evenly during the '80s - you had the star matchup, which was Bird VS. Magic. Then you had the dominating big men matchup, which was Parish (not McHale) VS. Abdul-Jabbar. Then you had the overshawdowed players matchup, which was McHale VS. Worthy. Then finally, you had the defensive enforcers matchup, which was Johnson VS. Cooper. God, I just wish I had tapes of the games between those teams..

Seriously, add something to the topic or just don't post anything at all. Hell a "I agree because this and that" is way better then just a quote.

holy sh*t, im sorry I didnt realize it was a bad thing..Anyway, the lakers are the greatest dynasty of all-time IMO while they may not have the most championships they are not far behind the celtics with 14 championships if I'm not mistaken especially since a bunch of their championships were in a smaller league. The Celtics also haven't had a championship in 2 decades while the lakers have,But I still have the Celtics second with the bulls third. The Bulls pretty much dominated the whole 90's era and they deserve to be third on the list behind the lakers and celtics1.Lakers2.Celtics3.Bulls

The dynasty that could have been DET. Should have won last year, and this year I can't believe they did not even make the finals when I thought they could have won it.

If we're talking about the duration of the history of the franchise, you would have to go with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, if we're talking about a single span of a decade, etc., I'm going with the Bulls easily.
