i saw this on the news. Source: http://www.katu.com/news/business/S...ping-like-a-baby-136116133.html?tab=video&c=y I will be looking for a new queen mattress in march/april and it will be a pillow top. I just don't want to be ripped off!
To me, Mattress World appears to be the kind of place that consistently jack their prices up 200% -300%, coupled with perma-sales. I hate that approach.
Well, then you'll be fine if you don't shop there. I know people who have been screwed over there. This has been going on for a few years. As a side note, she divorced her husband after rumors she had multiple affairs. If you're willing to screw over you husband, I'm sure you're willing to string along a bunch of strangers.
Bought new mattresses in October - went in there, didn't like the deals, so an employee chased me down in the parking lot and offered to cut 50% off any mattress. If they can do that, the price is clearly marked up way too high.
having sold mattresses in the past i can tell you the mark up on them is crazy! most are jacked up around 200-250%. my friend that i worked for would just sticker price his for far lower than anyone else and still made a nice living before selling the stores. always haggle with them, it's like buying a car, never take the sticker price as the final price.
I've heard that her business has gone down hill ever since her and her husband split and she took full control of it. She's behind on payments to local stations for advertising and to mattress suppliers.
If she has an inventory to unload of only a few hundred beds, she'll just keep them for personal use.
wow, imagine thhe State of Washington hitting up an Oregon business for all the past "sales tax" what a bunch of over reaching shit. She will close the show down and be re opened within six months tops. New company, new name etc.
She's going under. http://www.oregonlive.com/window-shop/index.ssf/2012/01/mattress_world_closing_its_doo.html
Source: http://www.koinlocal6.com/news/loca...orted-for-closing/r-FySUjuOUm3qPFjY4kzAQ.cspx I'm confused now. Albany, Canby, Northeast Portland, and Downtown Portland? Which ones are staying open? The news isn't getting its facts straight.
Denny needs to hire a private investigator to get to the bottom of this Sherri Hiner and her evil empire.
Albany is wrong. Canby is right. The "Downtown" location is on NE Grand and Couch, so both descriptions are technically correct.
