This sounds like unsupported idle speculation by Quick. He doesn't cite any sources, not even Canzano's usual "an unnamed source cloes to the team" (i.e. himself).

It's a blog, not a newspaper article. He can stuff it full of all the personal opinions he wants, just like a message board. It's up to the reader to try to distinguish.

Good old Oregonian, with all the excuses for poor journalism.

C'mon....Kingspeed you took that quote completely out of context to make this thread title.

I read the paragraph and immediately realized that Quick was just stating his opinion and using pure conjecture.

Not trying to defend the guy, but this thread is blown way out of proportion.

I'd be interested to find out one day what is wrong with Greg Oden. Why does he keep getting all these injuries?

Do you think a growth spurt had a little something to do with his knees constantly being frail?

I remember an interview during his rookie year where he told Canzano that he went from 6'11" to 6'11.5" during that M-fracture year.

I wonder if MB or Rice could get his most recent measurements. I know they measure players every fall during camp.

Maybe Oden is 7' 2" now and is just waiting for tomorrow's Laker game to come back and beat the hell out of Bynum.

Zach has a "slight" MCL tear, which is also called an MCL sprain. He does not have a completely torn MCL. He does not need surgery. There is no magic modern treatment or special motivation going on, this is an injury football players routinely come back from with a couple weeks of rest.

The essence of the term simply means individuals should not let past losses affect a current investment decision; that only the current merits and drawbacks should be weighed. Based on the length and value of Oden's 1 year deal I'm mostly guessing the Blazers have decided to go in another direction, but threw out a flyer on Oden as sort of a "just in case" side-bet. Is that what you are getting at?
