<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"Nelson said the Mavs now hope to reach an agreement with one of their own free agents, Adrian Griffin, before this week is over. The Mavs are also trying to decide whether to re-sign veteran free-agent point guard Darrell Armstrong or add a younger point guard into the mix behind Jason Terry and Harris.</div> What do you guys want to see Mavs do, resign Armstrong or go for a younger point? I'm leaning towards a younger point, as I think Armstrong in terms of what he can do is not what it used to be and we need someone who can give us some minutes.
Meh. I'd probably agree with you, because DA rarely plays when the game is close at all. I'd agree and say pick up a young point guard. Even a just below average point guard would be okay.
Armstrong was horrible last year as a player. He couldn't shoot and even got beat on defense. No doubt I'd pick a younger point guard.
I'd probably go for a younger guy too...but DA does fit Avery's mold as a player.Besides, don't knock what he did for us last year, he was a momemtum changer when Avery did put him in to play.He did basically change at least two games where the Mavs were down BIG, and we won. The Grizz and Raptors games back to back to be specific.
Well now we have 2 extra roster spots, we can resign armstrong and look for a replacement for Griffen who signed with the bulls.CRAP!!!!!!!!!

I say go with a younger guard. Armstrong is way beyond his years, and I personally think he should probably call it quits. But for Dallas, why not try and pick up John Lucas, Darius Washington, or even someone like JR Bremer.
Isn't Lucas getting like good offers though from Phoenix and Houston? I don't see how we could compete.
Phoenix is out of it now because they are competing with Houston for Banks. You guys could come in and steal Lucas from Houston and then we can both laugh at the Rockets.

I wish they would make some move and just finish our roster off with that third pg they promised to pursue. If all we have to show this offseason is Buckner and Barea as free agent acquisitions, I'll be a little disappointed. It's worst then last year with Diop/Christie. I'm not counting Ager who I like, but he was our draft pick, we knew we would be adding a player with that.
You're getting kind of greedy don't you think? You guys are 10 strong right now and are the best team in the league.
I'm not trying to be greedy, just want to get the best available players to round out our roster. We need to continue improving this year despite making the Finals, because standing pat isn't enough imo. Also, want to note anyone realize how terrible Powell has been, I guess he doesn't realize there's a guy named Pops whose outplaying him and is fighting for a roster spot. Rawle so far has been our best summer league player despite his shot selection and with Griff out, should make the roster. Powell isn't playing like he did last year when he had to make the team, and he's playing himself off the roster.
