When the Sporting News was actually a viable entity (does it even exist any more?) it had a column called Didn't You Used To Be... where it would (cruelly and unnecessarily) call out a sports figure who had slumped dramatically from his or her glory days. In that spirit, who's your candidate based on play so far?

Although I'm tempted to say Russell Westbrook, my choice is Tyreke Evans. Who'd've thunk that David Kahn would be looking like a good GM and Geoff Petrie like a chump?

I'm not sure any of the kings should be included. You could list most of them. Remember when Jason Thompson looked like such a stud? Last night he was 0-3 with no points and a +/- of -29.

Somebody should write a "Didn't you used to be...?" about Sporting News.

I still subscribe to Sporting News. It's better than ESPN the Rag, IMO.

    Yup.

He was averaging 16/9 on like 51% shooting the first two months of the season a couple years ago.

    He's rotting away in Sacramento

I signed back up for ESPN Insider only AFTER they let me opt out of getting ESPN the Magazine.

Getting that thing every two weeks just meant my mailbox was clogged and I'd have to go to the recycling a bit faster. I am not a fan of the magazine, and even if some of the writing is worth reading, I'd prefer it online.

That and a every other week sports magazine always seems stupid to me, with how quickly things change. Hey, remember that Superbowl two weeks ago? Remember how you've already read 20 articles online about it? Well, here's our 10 page feature on the superbowl, and how you no longer give a shit about it.
That and they pissed me off this year with their few issues like the Boston sports issue, the NFL Vick preview guide, and a few others. Crap.

The cologne page was the finishing stroke for me. I cannot abide a cologne page, even for bathroom reading material.
