http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/01/06/gerald-wallace-gets-offensive/?ls=iref:nbahpt1 Hey has anyone else saw this? Pretty Cool! GWALL Stat Cube
I'm so used to the stories about nobody wanting to play in Portland's small market, and the rain, etc. that I just kind of assume we're getting "tier 2 stars" when we make trades... remember KP's close to 2 day long tease about a significant player pick up and when they finally announced it we had gotten James Jones (...and? Where's the star player?). Anyway, I've watched Crash for a little over half a season and cannot figure out how we got him. Why on earth would ANY team let the guy go? Thank God WE didn't trade him before the season!!!
This is the reason why Wallace has been one of my favorite players for years. The guy is just all out hustle. The way this team is built him and LMA are going to have a Monster year as long as they stay healthy. Seems so strange that even during his all star season he seemed to go under the radar. Maybe now he can get the respect he deserves from the media.
Book it we are going to have THREE blazers in the Sunday all-star game. Coach of the western squad..... Mr Sonic!
I'd wait until the trade deadline. By then, he'll be worth 10 #1 picks, and it will be a bidding war of teams the Blazers can sucker into taking him. His body is going to break down next year anyhow. "Blow it up"
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE From New York...This just in, off the tape...The NBA, a professional basketball league, today announced that the best player on the Portland Trail Blazers, a team unknown to SportsCenter but apparently in the same league, has been changed. The new best player is Gerald "Crash" Wallace, who will apparently replace the former best player, LaMarcus Aldridge, at all formal events such as weddings and meetings with foreign leaders. This power shift indicates, according to anonymous Washington insiders who read tea leaves for a living, changes in both style and substance in the coming months from that cold, distant part of the world. Pacific forces have been put on alert, but no local troop movements have been detected. The official U.S. reaction today from a State Dept. spokesman was, "Whew, we can forget about them again."
Oh, I agree. SlyPokerDog and I have been a bit cheeky with the "blow it up" sarcasm today, though. Just a few weeks ago, it was time to tank for the lottery!
