Adam Samberg guests tonight as a barkeep at the Mint. I didn't really get into it until it was on Netflix, even though I watched all the episodes on IFC from S1.

    Via O-Live:

That's a 39 percent increase over season 1's premiere in 2011. And the marketing focus on media consumed by younger viewers seems to have paid off handsomely, too, with 399,000 out of the 500,000 total being viewers aged 18-49. That's an 81 percent increase over the season 1 premiere.

    Other numbers:

    * More than 1.3 million total viewers watched the IFC lineup the night of the season 2 "Portlandia" premiere; that evening's programming included repeats of "Portlandia" season 1.

    * If it seemed like "Portlandia" was all anybody was talking about on social media last Friday, that perception wasn't far from the truth. The show was #4 among cable shows and #8 among all shows for total social media commentary on Jan. 6, from 8-11 p.m. >>>>

Btw, they will also be featured in an episode of The Simpsons:

"Exec producer Al Jean deadpanned of Armisen and Brownstein’s casting, “They’re the best thing to come out of Portland since everything our show took out of Portland.”

Interesting! Thanks for posting. I'll say that through two episodes this season it's more refined and funnier than last season, I think.

This show is so close to being a riot, but like others have said, it's not quite there

it needs a bigger cast of actors. Carrie and um..the guy from SNL, are funny. But every character doesn't have to be them.

Season two has been great! The Battlestar Galactica episode with Edward James Olmos was hilarious.

    Btw, the intro is sick:
