Clevland 98 Minny 87; Wolves 2-5 Kevin Love is getting his as he is posting all star numbers . . . but his team is not winning and they just lost a home game to the cavs with the cavs in control most of the game.
Love is a very selfish offensive player who doesn't exert any effort on the defensive end. That's the bottom line, IMO. Got clobbered at home to the Cavs, but went for 29/14 on 19 shots, 0 assists, and 4 TOs. Meanwhile, Antawn Jamison and Anderson Varejo had their way against Love.
It's tough to know your role when you're an offensive player and are trying to play alongside Kevin Love. Beasley is a bust, though, and most of it is because he's a knucklehead.
Derek Rose with a -33 tonight. The Blazers' worst - was about 20 in the Suns game, so... it can happen to the best teams. (So what if Atlanta is a hell of a lot better than Phoenix...)
I'd do the deal in a heartbeat, but I'd bet money against the Bulls doing this deal. They LOVE Luol Deng.
They'd be stupid not to, if they could. Deng is great, but Howard would be impressive. They would be the new version of a shaq and Kobe.
The owner has not paid luxury tax for at least the last 13 seasons. That, and maximizing profit, have driven all of the team's basketball decisions. They are staring at having to pay Taj Gibson and Omer Asik. Plus they signed most of the remaining rotation players to2 year deals. Paying Rose, Howard, and Hedo costs close to the salary cap. I really don't see how they make it happen.
Monte Ellis tonight with one of my pet peeves: 10 seconds left in the game, GS down by one to the Jazz and he waits too long to make his move. He ends up shooting it with 1 second left in the game and misses. His teammate btw tips it in with what would have been the game winner if Ellis would have showed a little more urgency and not waved everyone off so he could wait to take the last shot. This is so fucking stupid and I see it all the time. Now I can kind of see doing that if the game was tied, but not when you are down by 1 point!
Yeah it all depends on if the bulls are willing to spend to contend. They are a close contender now, but I think the addition of Howard, Rose and Boozer would make them favored.
I feel for him. This is exactly how I tore my ACL -- a simple drive and my knee buckled and the next thing I knew I was withering in pain on the court.
Those three plus Hedo are $60M+ in salaries = over the cap. Hamilton + Brewer pretty much puts them into the LT. They still have to sign Asik and Taj to extensions. That aside, they probably are drinking their own kool-aid and believe the team will win championships as constructed. Then there's the issue of the shoe deals. I think both Rose and Howard have deals with the same company and it's not good for the company to have the two players in the same city...
The bulls will never win a title unless they get a stud next to Rose like Howard. The bulls are just like the blazers, built for regular season. The only difference is they get easier opponents early in playoffs then Portland.
Rubio watch 2012: 11 points and 13 dimes in 21 minutes (and +24) off the bench http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=320108027
Okay about this "Rubio" love. Did we have an opportunity to get him or something? What's the connection with many Blazer fans on his bandwagon?
