[IMG] Just liked to get your opinions because someone told me that they thought KMart sucked on defense

Shawn Marion isnt really a PF though, he was forced to play PF and forced to guard other PFs because Amare was out.

Yeah, but he played PF last year too. He's played that position the last two years, so I count him as a PF...

Tough to say but some of the best defenders at the 4 I pick are Haslem, R. Wallace, Duncan, KG, and J. O'Neal.

Shawn Marion is a good defender at the perimeter or on the block. Not much of a shot blocker on the weakside but eh. Tim Duncan comes to mind on the block. And Kwame Brown also comes to mind.Yes Kenyon suprisingly does have good D.

Kenyon Martin has average defense. He is undersized at the 4 in certain matchups and therefore is more of a liability though he tries hard on defense.

Martin is better then average. When healthy he can guard 3 spots on the floor. He is a rare 4 that can guard the perimeter (when healthy).J. O'Neal is not a good defender. He is lazy on that end of the floor and shy's away from contact. He'll get a block here and there.Kwame Brown played good defense for a 1/3 of a season so that makes him a good defender? Anytime your coach basically calls you a pussy while you sit on the bench, you have to wonder.KG and Duncan are by far the two best. If Shawn Marion is counted as a PF then he is next. I think Brand really stepped up his D last season. His help D was outstanding, IMO. Then I think it is Martin (again, when healthy).

Kwame brown is one of the best post defenders in the league. Guys like duncan, shaq, kg have had major problems with him. And please everyone, don't bring up stats with duncan having a solid game. Find me the stats when kwame brown was on him not brian cook. Then we can talk.

I think he's one of the best post defenders in the league but that's just me.Oh, he could be a top 5 post defender. He was defininetly a top 5 this year for defense in the post. I can find you stats where we've suffered percentage wise on defense because kwame was missing.

It depends on what you mean. If you're talking help dfense, then that would be basically blocks. And you think that Joel Pryzbilla is a great defender, one of the best? I think the more accurate measure is post defense, aka mano-a-mano. Unfortunately, regular stats don't convey that. You have to go to 82games to find that out. Nevertheless, I would say Tim Duncan is a premeir defender. He was last year, despite the injures, and I think (hopefully) injury-free, this year he will once again be on top.

you can't count on Tim Duncan to have an injury free season. i don't even think it's possible.

Clifford Robinson back in the day was one of the best defenders in the league. He is a little old now but I know a lot of players (Garnett, Wallace) have said that they have had problems with Cliff guarding them.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>you can't count on Tim Duncan to have an injury free season. i don't even think it's possible.</div>It is, and has been. He still played 80 games this year, despite the plantar fascitis. And this fascitis shouldn't be chronic if he gets rest, which he should be getting all this summer.

probably the most underrated defender at the 4 is Jason Collins. I always thought he was garbage that couldnt survive in a landfill, but this season, i realized how valuable of a defender he is.
