So if we can get them to do Miller and Wes for Iggy.... geeze I would be in love with that move.

Is there any way Iggy/Batum/Wallace would have enough ball handling to be a unit?

    Batum/Roy
    Iggy
    Wallace
    LaMarcus
    Oden/ Camby

We would need to add some backups but I would love the top7 guys on that roster. Sub Camby for LaMarcus and we'd be the best defense in the league!

Iggy gets very high assist numbers for a non-point (he led his team in the playoffs), so if we trade Miller to get him, we start Roy and Iguodala as our guards (and we're like the Harper-Jordan Bulls, or the Harper-Bryant Lakers. Except we don't run the triangle...)

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Harper was a fantastic defender as a member of the Bulls, while Roy is terrible.

I think a Batum/Iguodala backcourt would be a better approximation of the Bulls' alignment...but the Bulls also had Scottie Pippen, who was a proverbial point-forward. Portland has nothing like that.

According to Philly radio this morning, talks ongoing about Iggy and a filler going to LA for Odom and Artest.

I'd actually be okay with that. I think Odom is incredibly important to that team. However, maybe his importance was because of the triangle...?

I think that's a good trade for Philly, PROVIDED Evan Turner is any good.

I watched the Clippers when Harper was with them. He was not a good defender. Then his knees went totally and Phil Jackson benched him for an entire year in favor of Pete Myers. Suddenly Harper was a good defender. Watch and learn, Brandon...

Wonder what the filler would be? Would LA be stupid enough to take on a bad contract for an elite level player at another position?

Unless that filler is Brand, then LA is getting the bad end of that deal. Odom can play PF and provides them with a ton of rebounding. He is their second big man when Bynum goes down. Iggy can't switch to PF.

Depends on if they have another trade lined up. If LA does this and then something like:

    Pau, #4 to Minnesota
    Jamison, Love to LA
    #2, Webster, Ridnour to Cleveland

Then it doesn't look so bad for LA I don't think (although they still need post defense).

    Fisher/Kobe/Iguodala/Love/Bynum
    w/Brown, Jamison off the bench.

Maybe we could slide into that deal and send out Rudy, Babbit, and Williams and bring back Webster.

    *bump*.

Philly is playing amazingly (Doug Collins vs. Monty Williams for CoTY) right now, so you might think they wouldn't want to rock the boat. BUT: Evan Turner is finally busting out rather than looking like a bust, and he, as well as Lou Williams (who is what Jerryd Bayless can only dream of being), both play SG, like Iggy. I wonder if they'd revisit an Andre Iguodala trade? As Wallace is making noises about opting out, would people consider a Wallace-for-Iggy trade? That would push Matthews to the bench and bring Batum into the starting lineup. (ESPN TradeMachine is down, but according to RealGM tradechecker, a Crash + Armon +Babbitt for Iggy trade works.) Of course we'd be a bit overloaded at SG then, but maybe we could swap Wesley for a PG...

UGH!!!!! It's a good deal: Talent for Talent. The homer in me says "Hell NO!" I am just a big fan of Wallace and Matthews. If this could even happen, I wouldn't think it was a bad deal I guess.

I'd go for that move. Iggy can't really shoot (like Wallace) but he can distribute the ball pretty effectively, he defends and it would be a solid proactive move with an eye to the future (and it would clear time for Nic). As for trading for a point guard using Wesley (and probably Felton?) who do you have in mind?

If it was just that easy...

Honestly, think about the starting core of the future: PG: Rondo, SG: Iggy, SF: Batum, PF: Aldridge, Center: (gulp!) Oden. That would be very hard to not pass up.

OK. Now give me a realistic name for Felton-Wesley.

I like the ide of wes-batum-felton-camby and a pick or two for iggy-brand-holiday. Fills our need for the pgotf and puts two of the top three wing defenders on our starting roster.

Hmmm ... the Blazers would certainly be "buying low," but I can't imagine the Wiz are in any great hurry to trade him

That's reasonable I suppose. He sucks on defense, but there might be enough guys to cover for him ... or maybe they'd use him sparingly (28-30 minutes per game) and let Iggy be the de facto point guard.

Holliday isn't going anywhere. If we wanted him we should have tried to trade up and gotten him at 17 or so in that draft
