After losing their first three group matches in the competition last year, Seattle are the only CCL team of 16 to have a perfect record after three matches this time around. They shined so brightly in a big 4-2 win over the Columbus Crew this past Saturday in MLS action. Peri Marosevic gave Toronto the lead late in the 35th minute before Pumas defender Marco Palacios headed home a goal early in the second half to give the visiting Mexican side a share of the points. The four-year-old competition will remain a 24-club tournament, but instead of an initial knockout phase of 16 teams, all qualifiers will proceed to a main stage of eight, three-team groups, from which only the winners will advance to the quarterfinals.
