His 3pt shooting has improved and he barely shot any 3's in his first three seasons. I'm not worried about the type of player he was 3 years ago, I evaluate what type of player he is today and can be in the future.
He shot 32% last year. His career best is .333. I am evaluating your assessment of him currently being a "great defender who can shoot the three". If you meant how you view him in a few years, I didn't get that from your post.

We don't have a contract that would match up, I like all our rotational players more then him. If we had a LaFrents or Pryzbilla expiring contract I would make a run at him or another veteran but we don't have any options like that right now.
