With the trading of Kirk Snyder this leave the Hornets with no back up 2 guard. What other signing's or moves to you see the Hornets making?
Peja is our starting SG. I dont no if we are even going to make another big move. I think we did this to open up more money to resign Rasual Butler. Kirk Snyder was diong a poor job in the Summer Leagues which is someone the reason for this. Here is what i think our depth chart at gaurd will bePG- Chris Paul, Bobby JacksonSG- Peja Stojakovic, Rasual ButlerSF- Desmond Mason, Linton JohnsonAnd pretty much our SG/SF players are all interchangable. Also we shoudl see a lot of Chris Paul and Bobby Jackson on the floor at the same time
Isn't peja a small forward?I'm not really sure which position rasual butler plays in general, weather he plays sf or sg I don't know. Also, I thought desmond mason was playing more shooting guard for the hornets last year.
Peja is 6"10. He cant play the 2. He would get killed on defense too go against quicker guards. You guys do need a 2 guard. I suggest you a) resign Rasual Butler and have him play the 2, and then try to go after Bonzi Wells, Flip Murray, Fred Jones, or DeShawn Stephenson. Then Desmond Mason could back up Peja, and it would work out pretty well that way. If they could do that then I bet they could get a potential 5-8 playoff seed in the West..
Butler is not a 2 guard either. But Scott did say Peja will start at the 2. I think there has got to more to come to finish this roster before the season starts.
If I were the Hornets, I would rather have Rasual Butler starting at the 2 then a 6"10 SF who doesnt play any defense, and is pretty slow. Peja would get burned badly on defense if he had to guard quicker guards that could get past him pretty easily..

He can guard any 2 in the league easily. He is only 6'5 and has some quickness, but it appears as if he may be coming off the bench this season? I am still confused about this, read what Scott had to say...http://www.nba.com/hornets/news/Stojakovic..._13Jul2006.html
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zards @ Jul 14 2006, 03:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>They shouldnt have traded Snyder. Now Rasual Butler is to be depended on off the bench for scoring. </div>And he is a FA.
Wow you guys act like you know more about the Hornets than me. As of now Desmond Mason and Peja are the starting guys in the lineup. Rasual Butler came off the bench last year and did provide good scoring for us. Peja can either play the 2 or 2, Mason can play the 2 or 3, Butler can play the 2 or 3. Snyder was horrible anyways, and we got rid of him so we could resign Butler
cb4, what makes you think Peja will play D at the 3?i think they should make a pretty big push for Fre Jones. Very underrated.
it's called the MLE buddy."Wow you guys act like you know more about the Hornets than me." wow, that's a good way to start off a forum, especially when you say the Peja can be a two afterwards. He can't play the 2.
Well, assuming Butler re-signs with New Orleans they still need a wing. Peja is there at the 3, D-Mase/Butler can play both the 2 and the 3. Then what? No way they should have Linton Johnson as a regular rotation guy. I think they should try and make a run at DeShawn Stevenson, David Wesley, Deaven George, DerMarr Johnson, Vashon Lenard, or maybe even Qyntel Woods. Bottom line, they need a wing. I think Wesley would be nice because for one he's already been a Hornet, and two he's a veteran combo guard that will bring a nice leadership presence to the court. Stevenson wouldn't help the shooting game but he would make them more athletic and he brings a defensive presence. Those are the top 2 guys I think this club should go after. Celtic, they drafted a pretty good wing in Marcus Vinicius, he's young and was a nice pick in the 2nd round for them. They can probably do a patch work at the wing with a low tier free agent but as of right now their fine with Peja, Mason, Butler, Vinicius and Johnson.
peja going be the SG but he cant defend they should make desmond the Sg and peja the SFrasual is a SF but can play the 2david west will even slide over to the three when they go big and peja at the 2 when demonds on the bench

But is he really going to be ready for consistant backup minutes? I'm not so sure of that.
