If Portland would've made a trip to the finals last year, I'm sure your analogy would be on par.

They did. We've played as good as they have this year.

There's more emotion during an actual game.

And trust me, this board is a lot more tame than some of the other teams forums out there.

    How to bankrupt Paul Allen.

    1. Trade for an entire NBA All-Star team. Spend all your money.
    2. Watch McMillan teach them anemic offense and defense.
    3. Watch great shooters become poor shooters.
    4. Watch great leapers become weak rebounders.
    5. Watch great inside players have to shoot outside.
    6. Watch the team be over .500 so hey, it could be worse.
    7. Lose to teams with far worse talent.
    8. Give McMillan another contract because, you see anyone better?

Damn. I arrived just in time for the meltdown.

Here's the thing: we almost certainly aren't as bad as we looked in that 4th. And we almost certainly aren't as good as our early record indicated. We are what we are -- a good, but not elite team. If our big pieces stay healthy, we will contend for a decent playoff spot and maybe make some noise, but we are no juggernaut that's going to march through road trips unscathed.

The Spurs are seasoned vets, at home, with the most rock solid coach in professional sports. We could lose to a lot worse.

    Whats the difference?

Miami has lower standards because they happened to make the finals the year before? If anything it should be more depressing to be getting their ass handed to them on the westcoast trip.

A couple games and this place was talking finals and shit. Not realistic. Setting yourself up for disappointment.

    Today they're zero's, tomorrow they're heroes.

I told you guys, this will not be a very good road team. We've really been playing some stretches of bad basketball lately though. Seems we've abandoned that fast paced idea and have gone back to pounding it. Crawford and Felton are shit.

What can you say? Teams are shooting a high % because we're giving up layups and wide open 3 pointers. On the other end, our shots look more contested.

Also, the refs seem to hate us. They call us for traveling all the time, and never call the other team. Mess up out of bounds calls, call us for shit when the other player wasn't touched, let guys run into our players on shots. Not the reason we lost today, but the refs have been screwing us, as usual.

I didn't get to watch the game, but man it's really interesting to read through the game thread in one tab and a look at a boxscore in another -- gives a nice snapshot of why and when the wheels fell off.

Interesting to see a couple of trends emerge in our first 11 games. Kind of looking like they're going to be one of those Jekyll and Hyde, home-away squads. But really tough to get a read on why they struggle so much when they do the road thingy, especially when they are mostly a veteran team and not your typical young-pup, shitty road team.

Oh well, Spurs are tough at home and Kyle Lowry awaits, hopefully the gaurds can calm down and get things going sooner or later.

I hope people who rely on Batum's +/- don't take this game out of their sample size.

    I'd be thrilled with 3-3.
