"King" Mo Lawal has failed a post-fight drug test following his win over Lorenz Larkin at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine on January 7th. Lawal's urine sample has Drostanolone, an anabolic steroid. Unless an appeal (yet to be made) holds up, Lawal will be suspended for the entirety of one year from the failed test date, fined, and his result vs. Larkin overturned. Drostanolone, aka dromostanolone, aka Drolban, aka Masteron, is used by body-builders and fighters during "cutting cycles". Josh Barnett, Hermes Franca, Bill Mahood, Ruben Villareal, and Dennis Hallman have been caught on Drostanolone in the past. As of right now Lawal is denying using. Lawal's failed test comes hot off the heels of Cris Cyborg Santos' failed test in December.
So before he has a chance, what excuse will it be? a) the test was inaccurate b) tainted supplements/weight-cutting aids c) mis-advised by the athletic commission d) no excuse: full acknowledgment of usage and guilt Go.

The excuse now is that he was injected with a non-anabolic steroid four weeks prior to his bout while having his knee drained. Maybe the doctor or nurse administering the injection used the wrong steroid? That's what they are going with, anyway.
