NBA Comparison: Tracy McGrady http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/kevindurant.html<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Strengths: His upside is out of this world ... This kid is not even begining to scratch the surface of his potential ... Looking at him you see his frame is going to fill out in 3-4 years ... Very fluid athlete with explosiveness ... He plays hard and is still learning the game ... Provided he works hard, Durant is going to be a special player in the league who will be able to do many different things on the court ... Not aggressive enough to be like KG, but skilled enough down the road to contribute like a AK47 or a Grant Hill... Developing inside outside game ... Can shoot the 3 and flush in transition ... It is scary to think of what he could be like if he puts on 15 lbs of muscle and developed a handle, a 2010 version of KG!Weaknesses: His (lack of) stength is his major weakness, and he really needs to put on weight or he wont be able to do much in the NBA except shoot deep 3s or score in transition like Darius Miles of 4 years ago ... Needs to become more aggresive, develop more nastiness ... Still developing a game off the dribble ... Defensively he needs to move his feet better and keep his hands active on the ball ... Oak Hill is giving him the work ethic he will need in the long run, since he most likely wont be going to college ...</div>

I agree. He is a phenomanal athleite with a great shot too. He is going to be a great player in the NBA. He doesnt really fit in at any position though..He is stuck between SF and PF..

    He's not a PF, he's a natural SF...

I dont know, it could be a problem if he keeps on growing. He's 6"10 and could still grow. That would be kind of tall for a SF..

Yeah I was going to say he's even closer to playing the 2 than the 4. He is an extremely fluid player for his height.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ Jul 15 2006, 12:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I dont know, it could be a problem if he keeps on growing. Yeah I know, but it could be touch to play the wing if he grows to be 6"11 or 7"0...Just saying..

height doesnt really matter much considering he is still pretty quick and his outside jumpshot is good. I am looking forward to see him play for the horns this year

Putting Durant at PF would be wasting his talents.

It will be interesting to see if he can be succesful, I think he will be, and I think he will be extremely difficult to guard.

T-Mac is taller than his listed height of 6'8. It's like KG isn't 6'11, he's 2 or 3 inches taller.

I'd love to see this kid play..He's a big guy, and if he can put on some muscle to go with his frame..He will dominate SF's..Being 6'10 he's already bigger than the majority of the forwards out there..He's got great range, good jumper, and he's got a height advantage to get past/over everyone that guards him.. :happy0144:

He is still extremely athletic and he can hit the outside shot. I saw him play in person. [IMG]

Tim Duncan and KG said that TMac was taller then 6'8 in slam.

back to topic, Kevin Durant is probably the most gifted athlete i've ever seen, in person anyways. He simply glides to the basket, every move seems so effortless. He really is a very good shooter too. He needs to work on ballhandler and his approach to the game. When he learns that basketball isn't about impressing the crowd, he'll be a superstar, and a winner.

He gives that feel that everything is so easy, and at times makes him seem lazy.

I think Kevin Durant, with a little more meat, would have literally the perfect nba body.

I want to say this, I have seen both these players play, and I know I am going to get some criticisim for this, but Thaddeus Young will be a better pro than Kevin Durant.

OK, thanks for the homer report :thumbdn1: Durant is more gifted, and a better shooter then Thaddeus. You're just saying that because he's the hometown hero. I'm just going to ignore you from now on...You also said Pau Gasol was the 5th best player in basketball...
