There are more examples of just dogs. I think it's fair to say that animals can adapt to their environments, and for all we know it could be God who's behind this. He's very present in the world and there is nothing apart from His Spirit. However there is nothing that indicates that an animal can evolve into an entirely new and different kind.

There is a tremendous amount of evidence that we evolved from an ape-like creature. The fossil record shows many different examples of how humans have evolved over time. Read this. You might learn something.

if you accept that a species can change in small ways to adapt to it's environment, and two populations of an existing species are at some point split into radically different evironments (by ice age glaciers or rising ocean waters or whatever), what's to keep the many small adaptive changes one (or both) would have to make from adding up, and the populations from diverging into different species if given enough time? just as a hypothetical thought experiement assuming the earth is at least millions of years old, what would be the actual barrior to that happening?

if evolution was 10000% undisputed proven fact, religious peeps would just claim "god evolved them, he had a plan to make apes into humans, then gave them a soul, yadda yadda"

i mean really, the discussion is fun and semi enlightening, but i hope nobody is trying to change anyones mind here

there may be disagreement over the details, but common descent is undisputed consensus within the scientific community - as much a scientific fact as that the earth revolves around the sun. and pushing 1/2 of all christians in the USA have already been compelled to take exactly the position you describe because anyone who is aware of the actual facts and scope of the evidence has no choice intellectually.

    why?

Okay, well the difference between an Asian, African, Hispanic and Anglo Saxon. Is this a trick question?

No, it wasn't intended to be a trick question. I am just pointing out that if you believe in microevolution, then you still would have to apply it to people. While there are certainly different races of people which I suppose is an obvious concept for microevolution, I was curious if there were other traits with microevolution that ORL2 accepted.

And where the hell did Gingers come from?!?! :)

Evidence that’s backed by theories and assumptions, not based on actual evidence. There is no fossil records of ape turning into man, and the ones that we have “found” have been proven fraudulent or were misinterpreted from the beginning.

Because I see no reason animals and plants would need to "evolve" to become so complex and diverse that some become endangered or extinct. I really can't see why they didn't just all stay in the ocean. God's creation is glorious to me.

No there isn't. Stop using DOGMA in this thread. Show me a FishaDino fossil. How about a DinoRat? What about a ReptiPrimate? Then show me multiple samples. There are millions of fossil records and not a single shred of proof of mid evolution of species.

doesn't answer the question. and why would god bother creating species just so they would go extinct?

because life tends to exploit every available niche.
