Re: UFC on FX 1: Guillard vs. Miller (Jan.20) Guillard loses by rear naked choke for the third time in twelve fights. Seems like the kind of fighter who will just never get over the hump because of that glaring weakness (submission defense). Pat Barry. Standout of the night was Nick Denis, blasting Joe Sandoval out in the first round with standing elbow strikes. Looked great. Rivera's emotional retirement was sad. Kind of wish he didn't have the whole Bisping run-up/fight as part of his career. Kind of a black mark. If you get the chance look up his fight with Anderson Silva @ Cage Rage 11 on YouTube, if it's still there. In his day Rivera was a beast.
1.3-million people watched this event on FX, but only 150,000 tuned-in to the Fuel TV prelims. Does anybody get that channel?
That is a pretty damn good number for Fuel TV. I'm sure one of Fox's stipulations in negotiations with the UFC was that they load up Fuel with UFC programming. It is a small channel that not everybody gets. Those are respectable numbers for Fuel. You have to look at it this way--they are better than the numbers they did on Facebook.
