50-43 at half. Nice game again from Rip, CJ and Luol. Carlos is missing even the miniscule space that Noah's tornado gives him in the middle.
Mike James with 10 assists and 9 points in just 16:30 of PT. Rip had 20 points. Deng and Boozer with nice scoring games, rebounding, etc. Scalabrine scored!
I got a laugh out of how Stacey King and Neil Funk continued to dig at how BJ Mullens was taking shots outside of the paint, and shooting at a high volume. He's basically tied with DJ Augustine as the player with the best TS% on the Bobcats. Mullens is also a relatively high usage player for them. It's like, "Why does that guy keep taking those shots?" Because that's what he does and he's good at it.
James worked well with Boozer, as Thibodeau called a number of pick-and-rolls for the veteran duo. Boozer is averaging 24 points over his last three games. “Carlos has been playing at a very high level now for a number of games,” Thibodeau said. “He’s in rhythm, he’s walking into his shots, he’s got great balance.”
This is interesting, isn't it? I wonder if Thibodeau is talking about inside-outside balance or body balance when shooting. I'm guessing it's the former, and Thibs is taking a little bit of a curtain call. He deserves it.
