    "It's not the state of the Edmonton Oilers rebuild that gives me pause.

    You embark on a lengthy rebuild, as the Oilers have, you can't very well get impatient for a playoff run in what the Oilers would identify as Year 2 of the renovation.

    They are in the midst of a process that requires a strong stomach or the ability to discretely look away frequently — preferably both — and sometimes for long stretches.

    C'est la vie. Not every franchise is prepared to embark on the radical approach. The Oilers hockey people, backed by their owner, are, and they haven't publicly outlined a definitive time frame for completion, either."
