Win tonight and were 10-8 without a training camp or exhibition games. Definitely fielding a more complete team this year. Looking forward to them really putting it all together and gellin.
We've had a fairly easy schedule, that 6 game trip was against weak teams. I was really expecting us to have a slightly better record at this point, but still we're close to the 2 seed so I'm not terribly dissapointed. With the unbalanced schedule we don't have to make up for this easy stretch, so unlike the Miama/OKC/Lakers/Dallas teams that play all the playoff teams a bunch we luckily have a fairly easy schedule the whole year.
We'v had an easy schedule? Hollinger and other ESPN analysts seem to think we'v had a fairly hard schedule. http://espn.go.com/nba/stats/rpi/_/sort/SOS Were 8th in SoS. So we haven't had an insanely hard schedule but defiantly not easy.
The SoS stuff is odd. I think the disconnect is that we had a lot of rest prior to our tough games in the early going, so the schedule is easier than the number crunching indicates.
We've had home games against teams like Denver, Philly, Orl, teams that really boost our SOS stat but I don't think are terribly difficult. Beating Philly the first game of the season is not as impressive as beating the Heat out of the gate even though both teams now have similar records. We've had some easy road games that turned into losses against Phx, Det, Hou. Yes its subjective but I don't think our schedule has been too difficult.
This goes both way though. Other teams didn't have training camp or exhibition games either and will only get better. My point is, I think we are what we are
Interesting to look at the home/road records for the top 10 teams in the west. All winning at about 75-90% of their home games. Conversely only two teams have a winning record on the road.
