Griff signed a deal with the Bulls today, they went 3 years, when we only went 2. I must say I'm bummed about this. Now we'll have to look into free agency for a backup sf, along with a backup pg. Unless we decide to go with Pops and Barea to fill those last two spots. But judging from the swing injuries we had the past year, it would have been nice to have Griff in for emergency.

Not a big deal. You can play Stackhouse, Croshere, and Dirk at SF if needed but I would like Ager and Buckner to get more minutes since they are better than Griffin. Mcgrady will be a hard cover though if Dallas faces Houston again.

I agree, even though Griffin was good I think Buckner is a better overall player. [IMG] And you guys have plenty of depth at guard. Good signing by the Bulls. Paxson is doing a great job.

^I don't agree with the Bulls signing him...I mean he'll help depth, and be good from a locker room and veteran standpoint, but they need offense on that team, not another defensive minded guy.The Mavs are still loaded with talent, and while I'd like to add someone to play backup PG and SF...I think we can get away with what we have if we need too, as well as bring up some guys from the summer league team.

Unlike them, Griff could play sf. Buck and Ager should strictly be relegated to time at shooting guard. All I know is this possibly saved Rawle's spot on the roster.

Oh yeah, that's probably a good reason for them not keeping him...allthough right now, Griff is a better option than Rawle.

They got some guys that can put some points on the board and Griffin is just a nice guy to have all the bench. Like you said: he'll help depth, and be good from a locker room and veteran standpoint

Since the Mavs lost Griff I hope they could do the sign and trade to get Najera bc he can play the 3 and 4 and does the dirty work like Griff.

Man, I just don't see the Bulls scoring well from down low at all...Adding Big Ben probably increases their inside D a little, but not too much from last year, but offensively, the Bulls aren't good enough to get past the second round and definately not past the EC Finals...Just my thoughts on it.

I wouldn't mind that trade, but on dallasbasketball.com they said that would be a longshot at best. Just because of Najera's last 2 years pack on a lot of money. And someone would have to pay Van Horn the same amount to be sign and traded. I think our best bet right now is to just let Rawle/Ager get time that Daniels was getting with Buckner getting the minutes Griff was. A nice improvement I would say. I would like us to add this Barea to fill our final spot for third pg though. I like Armstrong but this Barea would just be a better addition. We win our first summer league game thanks to him, 20 pts and 8 ast running the team. Also, if we get any injuries with our swing, I'm pretty sure we can fill that later. George Lynch has had talks with us through the last year(signed Griff over him) and this summer(we invited him to summer league).

Well this isn't THAT big of a surprise because Adrian Griffen did play for the Chicago Bulls in the 04-05 season.I would have expected him to stay in Dallas considering they got to the finals but things happen. :dunno:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>ROK is that Ager injury serious?</div> No, he dislocated his finger but only missed one game. He's still playing but he seems to have had a effect on him. Nothing bad though. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Well this isn't THAT big of a surprise because Adrian Griffen did play for the Chicago Bulls in the 04-05 season.I would have expected him to stay in Dallas considering they got to the finals but things happen. :dunno:</div> They did waive his ass, and send him packing. But offered the most, and Griff at this stage has to take it.

Why did the Bulls sign a guy who can't score... when they already can't score? Not too big of a deal for the Mavs, they've got enough guys besides Griff.
