<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>By TIM MacMAHON / The Dallas Morning NewsFormer Mavericks swingman Adrian Griffin has agreed to a three-year contract with the Chicago Bulls, his agent said Sunday afternoon.Tony Dutt said the Mavericks offered a two-year deal at a competitive salary. Dutt declined to reveal financial terms of the Bulls? contract or Mavericks? offer.?He had such a respect for Avery [Johnson] and the Mavericks? organization,? said Dutt, who represented Johnson during the Mavericks coach's playing career. ?With that being said, players at the end of the day have to go with their gut.?Griffin, 32, played a valuable role during the Mavericks' run to the NBA Finals after sitting out the first month of the season while waiting on a team to offer him a contract. He started 45 games during the regular season, averaging 4.6 points and 4.4 rebounds and doing a lot of dirty work.Dutt said Milwaukee, Washington and Sacramento also showed serious interest in the 6-5, 230-pound Griffin.Griffin, who did not immediately return a phone message, played for the Bulls in 2004-05.</div>LINK
Wow, the Bulls have so much depth it's scary. They are going to be a really good team for years to come..starting next year..Good signing. This hurts the Mavs. They won games when Griffin started for them. He works hard, and provides good defense. I wonder why he wants to be a 3rd stringer on the Bulls, rather then a potential starter on the Mavs though..
I replied in the Mavs thread. I don't see the need to start 2 threads for everything. I think the minor signings should go in the team forums.
Yeah the Bulls have depth, but all they did was add another defensive minded player to an already good defensive team.Chicago needs a few offensive players...especially one that can score down low, because frankly, Big Ben isn't going to cut it.And the reason he didn't resign with the Mavs is because he would at best have been the #2 SG or #2 SF...he wouldn't have started next year...that's why they added Buckner, a younger, quicker version of Griffin, that can actually spread the floor.Keeping Griff would have helped the Mavs depth, but they still go 11 deep, in regards to quality, and he would haven't had that much time to play anyways.

Keeping Griff would have just helped with our depth in case of injury. It's a loss but not a bad one, also he left because they gave him a longer contract and money. That's about it, and at this stage of his career, I'm happy for him to get that.
The Bulls are killing the league. They have all this depth + next year's Knicks Pick! Greg Oden, Kevin Durant, or Joakim Noah would all be great for Chicago. And they aren't done this off season yet.I tip my cap to John Paxson. I hope that it's the right Paxson though. I'm pretty sure Jim works for the Bulls too.
That pick is lottery protected and if Knicks make the lottery, it's theres. So no Oden, Noah or Durant to Bulls.
Oh ok, I didn't know that then. Thanks for clearing that up. They are going to go places next year though.
Besides, all these great moves they are making need to be tempered a bit.You have to wait and see if all these moves actually pay off...some will for sure, but the Bulls are adding ALOT of guys, and not many teams that add that much in the off season have had all their moves pay off.
It's a lost to Dallas he did help them, and he is also good on D.And Chicago is getting a little to carried away. I know it adds more depth, and that's good. But I think they already had enough depth, and don't they want to save money for next years free agents? There should be good free agents out there next summer. And they will soon have to re sign there own guys. I just think they should chill on spending money even though I like this move.
The fact that Griffen played for the Bulls in the 04-05 season probably had a big impact on this signing by the Bulls.I would have expected him to re-sign with dallas after going to the finals but I guess not

I do think they are overhauling their roster way to much for it to be that effective...noone really knows how the chemistry will be on this team, and by adding more and more players, there's a chance they could have issues.

The main reason I don't see the point of this when they already have depth is just that they will have to sign there own guys soon. And that there will be better free agents out there next summer. That is the main reason I don't understand it, not that I don't think they would click.
