Take Boston Celtics guard Paul Pierce off the prospective 2007 free-agent board for the Magic. Pierce has agreed to a three-year, $60 million extension with the Celts (and who in his right mind wouldn't?). Turns out, my spies say the Magic would not have made a bid on Pierce. Look for them to show love for New Jersey Nets forward Vince Carter or Dallas Mavericks forward Josh Howard next summer.http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...l-sports-col241I dont mind Carter here if he takes a huge paycut but I would not give him a max contract, plus he has a pleyer option worth over 16 million dollars. Josh Howard would be a nice addition but I don't see Cuban letting him go.
Were expected to extend Howard this summer, so hopefully it won't have to come to teams getting a shot to offer him and we just lock him up now.
Howard would be great for them. Long, athletic, decent defensively, good mid-range jumpshot, and plays SF which Magic needs some help in. I doubt that they'll get Carter, but Howard could be a possibility if the Magic management try to pursue him like crazy. Right there you got the duo of Dwight and Josh..D-Ho and J-Ho. But seriously, Magic are going to be a great team in the future if they'll get Howard. Jameer, Josh, Dwight, JJ, and Darko. Nice.
I dont think Howard will either because Cuban will most likely not let him even think of going newhere.
Josh Howard probably isnt going anywhere. Carter COULD become a free agent though. If they had Carter, they could become a very good team..
Josh Howard isnt leaving anytime soon. We already know that Mark Cuban does mind spending money so he will do all in his power to make sure Josh Howard stays in a mavericks unform. As for Vince Carter, I wouldnt be surprised if he took serious consideration with the Magic next season. If he is a smart man, he knows that the team he is with right now, cant win a championship. The Magic in a couple of years, could be a championship contender. If they hold on to Dwight which they most likely will...
id rather have J ho on my team than Vince Carter. Unless Carter decided not to chuck up 50 shots before haltime. hes got two superstars on his team. imagine when he only has one in orlando!
Orlando Magic=team of the future, simple as that they have all the materials, and with one of these players they are championship contenders.
I'm betting neither of the guys mentioned are a Magic next year. Were already negotiating a extension with Howard, Rashard Lewis is a more likely name to pop up for Orlando.

Josh Howard would be great, I expect him to be better than Marion. Like others said though, Cuban will not let him go.
I would not mind Lewis at all, didn't he sign a 2 year ext though? If he didn't the only thing I would wonder is what would happen to Hedo's minutes.
josh howard wont ever be better then marion theres only a 2 year age differnce becuase josh was old for his highschool class so he would atleast hit close numbers to marion by now

That's why Sonics might look for trades involving Lewis, so they don't lose him for nothing. I think he's the clear cut free agent of 07 right now though.
